Needed a place to crash for two adults and two teens visiting Sac for a day and going to a show at Golden1 Center. Easy check-in, nice and quiet. Great neighborhood for a morning stroll to coffee.
This property me all my needs. Very comfortable and the owner was courteous and quick to reply. Instructions for entry were straight forward and complete. I'll be back if I'm in the area again.
Place needs a little update/housekeeping. But the owner is very communicative, let me add an extra day up front and reached out immediately when there was an issue. Location great and felt safe. I had to fly out 2 days early so wasnt here very long.
I booked this place for a quick overnight trip in Sacramento. The place can do with a little cleaning. There was food on the pull out bed, strands of hair on the floor and the blinds required some dusting. With all of that said I would stay the night again. The place was in a safe area, plenty of places to eat and everything was a reasonably priced.
Nice in-law unit in a house located in a quiet and nice neighborhood in Sacramento. Was a pleasure to stay here.

Smallest & worst toaster; no place to sit down to eat; needs a reachable outlet in kitchen; no water pressure in bathroom sink; no hairdryer as advertised; very bad internet (couldn't even download news on laptop); no sound insulation between units--could hear conversations; footsteps; video games? and constant dog barking. Not a good place to stay.
Good location to downtown. Quiet neighborhood. The space was decent for 3 adults staying there. The only thing to consider is getting AC. We visited Sacramento at a time when it was 90-100F and there was one window unit. The bedroom was extremely uncomfortable.
Stayed one night passing through town. The bed was comfy and private parking was secure behind a locked gate. It reminded me of a boarding house or college apartment in its vibe. Basic/ No frills. Upstairs neighbors kept us awake walking and talking. Shared free laundry. Wonky layout. We didn't bother trying to cook anything. Bring your own coffee. (Keurig maker, not drip).
This Vrbo is a small apartment in the back of a very cute CA Craftsman home.It is centrally located and you can walk anywhere in mid-town Sacramento. It has good WiFi, a small fridge and a microwave which were perfect for my needs. It is an older home 19th century home and has some quirks and challenges which ultimately does not take away from its charm.I look forward to staying there again!
If you’re looking for a beautiful spot look no further than this treasure tucked away in beautiful Sacramento. I wish I got to spend more time in the home to enjoy its offering of peace. I will definitely consider it again if I find myself in the area. Thank you hosts for a safe space.
Kitchen was very small, not really a kitchen at all. Freezer was in the living room. There was a set of three keys to get in. Would be better to have 1 key for all locks. The electronic lock to the unit was tricky. Had to push in on the door to get it to work properly. Need a better shade on the bedroom window. When the neighbor turned on what I think was their bathroom window, it lit up the bedroom. Bed was very comfortable and unit was very clean. It did suit our purpose well. Was good that there’s off street parking as there is no street parking on Wed mornings.
The apartment is in a building that the owner rents out as well. The upstairs guests were SOOOOO loud ALL night on a Wednesday. We tried contacting the owner multiple times throughout the night so he could reach out to the partiers but the response time was not great (basically no reply until 3am and then he did nothing) and we got hardly any sleep. Hugely unfortunate since we were in town on a work trip and were exhausted the next day
The location worked well and has dedicated parking. The apartment has been created from part of a larger house that has tenants, and you can hear them, including kids, running around and talking. The layout is four contiguous rooms: kitchen, living room, walk-thru bathroom to the bedroom. The window unit in the living room isn’t super effective at cooling the bedroom during a May heat wave (low 90s) and requires that bedroom and bathroom doors stay open to have a chance. Bedroom fan was slow and did not seem to change speed. Bed was very comfortable otherwise. A freezer (not shown in pics) currently blocks a third of the doorway into the living room from the kitchen, if that makes a difference for your accessibility.
This is an older house but I live in a 1940's house so I'm used to creaks and cracks. The stairs and the walk through the laundry room to access the unit is a little rickety, the floor in the laundry room being very uneven likely from water damage. The apartment itself was clean and basic which is what I would expect from something on the lower price end of options available. Great proximity to walk to the grocery store and found a little market with a surprisingly good selection of beer nearby. Downside: There was no hair dryer as listed on amenities so we had to go buy one. Brought home a take and bake pizza for a simple night in and realized there are no numbers on the oven knob, so that was fun trying to cook by feel. The ironing board was a mini desktop sized one, so a little clarification in the description about that would be good. Also, the listing has a dishwasher as an amenity, there is no dishwasher other than me. With a used sponge (I hate sponges) thankfully not quite to the smelly stage. Overall it was an ok stay. Some hosts try to add a little extra flair here and there to make their places feel like home - this just felt like the bare minimum to check the boxes. Which was fine for me, but the photos definitely make it look more modern than it is and I could see someone checking in who's not as amicable as me being pretty disappointed.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
Poor communication and a concerning security lapse.
I don't typically take time to leave reviews, but am this time due to a security issue that occurred on the 2nd day of my stay. I had returned to the apartment between my meetings and a dinner event, and when I left the apartment at 4:30 pm, I made certain that all of the exterior doors were locked, as well as the gate to the outside of the property (at the street level). When I returned at 10 pm, the street-level gate and the exterior gate and door (all with separate locks) were standing wide open, and only the inside door from the back entryway to the apartment was closed and locked. The driver of my Lyft was watching to make sure I got inside safely, and noticed my hesitancy to enter, so asked if I wanted him to wait while I checked to make sure no one was in the apartment. I'm not sure that I would have entered without calling the police, if he had not been so kind as to wait for me to check things out before leaving. As I looked around the apartment, I noticed that the leaky bathroom faucet had been replaced while I had been out for dinner, so I was able to surmise that it had been the owner or a contractor who had left the exteriors doors and gates standing open. I notified the contact on VRBO, who apologized for lack of communication- not for the security breach. There is also no central heat in the apartment- it got quite chilly at night.
