We wanted mountain rustic, cozy, clean and walkable to a atore or restaurant. It had a great size kitchen to cook in or store our food until the next day. The owner, host was communicative and very welcoming. This is a motel i would stay at again.

The room was very clean except the couch was stained. Comfortable beds with large kitchen and living room. We stayed it Room #5 which was a suite. Walking distance to town. The hotel was a little run down but a good bargain for the price.

The room #8 I stayed in was very large and clean. I loved the wooden ceiling with the beams running across and the string lights on it. Also the fireplace. Right next to a thrift shop, a small market, and a lot of food. No complaints, everything was smooth

Great cozy little cabin

It was a great value, and I am so glad that I drove up the mountain to this cozy little cabinet - such a much greater experience than just a hotel room. Highly recommended.

The hotel is in downtown Running Springs and is very walkable. Most of the stores are closed except for the market. The floor of the hallway is cracked and could be a hazard cutting people's feet as we are asians and walk barefeet inside the room. The outside door handle is not latchable.

Had a stove top, no exhaust fan. Bed frame was broken, bathroom in master bedroom, TV didn’t work, close to the main road so heard traffic into the evening. I’d never take my family here. Luckily just a guys trip.

Just kinda run down, but I guess you get what you pay for. Otherwise adequate. Wall heaters were basically on/off and manual, so hard to achieve a stable comfortable temp. Not much in the amenities department. And, broken windows, dust bunnies, lack of towels.

A little run down

So this was one of the least expensive places available in Running Springs, because of this my expectations were low. Heater worked well, but many things like were poorly maintained. Shower Rod wouldn't stay up, dirty floors, missing toilet paper dispenser, no paper towels, worlds smallest trashcan, etc. Front desk person was kind but the place was a little run down.

Feels rundown. I suspect the thermostat didn't work and I had to wake up in cold 3 times till morning to get up and tinker with the thermostat to make the furnace work, for a while. The mattress is rather hard, woke up with sore legs and back.

Acceptable for the price!

The location is perfect, and we had a room with a vaulted ceiling and a fireplace...The downside was that the room was worn and tired. The heater was very noisy, and the fireplace was non-functioning. There are no hairdryers in the room or in the office. As I said, for the low price, it was acceptable.

ONLY Bathroom was in 1 of the 2 bedrooms

Ok little motel but we booked a 2 bedroom with Pull out couch, for an apartment type that slept 6, and the ONLY Bathroom was in 1 of the bedrooms so Everyone has to go thru your bedroom to use the restroom/shower/etc... Glasses & Cups were all still dirty, dirty towel on bathroom floor too. Rooms were big but bathroom was so small I had to go out to change my mind LOL..!!

Looks better in pictures. Room was very dirty. Pee stains on the floor. Microwave was really dirty. Killed at least 3 roaches. Towls that were in the room were dirty they had stains on them. Rug in room was really dirty like it needed to be vacuumed. Luckily we had our own towels & blanket to use because we felt gross to sleep on the beds.

My husband and I are not terribly picky travelers. This establishment had a 7.3 rating I believe. It should’ve been a 3.7 it makes us not want to trust your ratings at all! I took some pictures that I can send you if you wish The manager/owner was a sweet person trying to make a property sustainable. It seems that he’s working with a very limited budget. We wish him all the luck. The property has a lot of potential. We booked for two nights that were nonrefundable. We spent one night and left very very early in the morning because it was just not a place that we could stay any longer. We do not want our money back. We just want Expedia to be more accurate on their ratings!

Our stay at Sherwood Arms Motel was worthwhile! After our first night, we decided to stay another night and Syed (Front office) made it an easy transition for us! He ensured we were accommodated, comfortable, and pleased. We stayed in room 8 and 9 and can definitely say that it was better than a hotel (made it feel as if we were luxuriously camping). Close to Lake Arrowhead, convince store, gas station, diners, etc. Highly recommend and will be back :)
