Great location at the top of Janiculum hill to get great views over the city with a lovely park close by. Great to walk down to the abundance of restaurants in the quirky cobbled streets of Trastevere. Very steep walk back up to hotel which we enjoyed for the fitness but plenty of buses, taxi’s if you’d prefer. The staff at hotel were all wonderful and welcoming fantastic service and the pool was great for relaxing after all the site seeing

Lovely hotel and great staff. Excellent breakfast. We had dinner for €35 per head and it was well worth it and delicious. It is situated on a hill which itakes15 minutes downhill to get to the hub of Trastevere. We are all over 50 years old so needed a taxi back to hotel which was only €9. We had a great time.

Very nice hotel in a nice area. Pool was beautiful. Hotel staff very friendly. Room was a little small (only reason I didn’t give a 5 rating). I would definitely stay here again.

Grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. Pool is a nice quiet reprieve. Overall hotel is kept very clean but is very dated and worn around the edges. Rooms are very simple but clean. Only critique-We were very unhappy with the uncomfortable old beds. Squeaky springs that after 6 nights, left you achy in the mornings. Front desk advised that none of the rooms have anything better so a change of rooms wasn’t possible. Restaurant staff is great, breakfast was good. I would say, come for the pool mostly.

The staff and service was excellent. Property is fairly close to the Vatican and Trastevere, but beware of the uphill climbs getting back to the hotel after long days of walking all over the city!

The hotel is very nice overall. The staff was helpful with info and ordering up taxis for us. My wife raved about the pasta dinner she had. Our only complaint was the size of our bathroom, specifically how small the shower is.

This hotel is just average. The price is very expensive for what you get. It is not good value for money. The rooms are small, the fridge in our room was broken and we asked about it and still no one came to help or fix it. We could not get milk for our tea in the evening and asking for additional teabags and a fresh towel was such a task we nearly gave up. The night staff member was rude and unhelpful. The buffet breakfast was below average. The pool is good on the hot days. Most of the staff are lovely.

The Hotel is very dated. There were bugs in the room. The staff were trying but you got the feeling that they were under staffed. The place needs a makeover. Would not recommend staying there.

We loved the pool, as our trip was coming to its end we picked this hotel so we could chill by the pool after those long walks throughout Rome, and Florence. The service was fantastic! thanks to Mario and our awesome friend who i neglected to memorize his name and treated us so lovely! Chele, sos el capo! Ariana and all the people at the front desk were a delight! Miran, the soon to be psychologist, thank you! You all, rock!!

Hotel Gianicolo is the perfect mix of elegance and tranquility. Perched above Rome, it offers breathtaking city views and easy access to Trastevere and the Vatican. The staff were warm and attentive, the rooms spotless and charming, and the breakfast delicious. The peaceful garden and pool made it the ideal retreat after a day exploring the city. We loved the staff at this hotel and the beautiful grounds in a quiet area. The pool was fantastic and on-site dining options are excellent, especially for tired travelers in need of relaxation.
