The best area to stay in Rocky Point is primarily along the waterfront, particularly around the main marinas and the stretch of coastline leading towards the lighthouse.

This area is the heart of Rocky Point, offering direct access to the beach and the main bay. It's where you'll find the highest concentration of top hotels, from resorts to private rentals. The general layout is linear, following the curve of the coastline, making it easy to navigate between dining spots and water activities.

For couples, this waterfront area is ideal due to its romantic sunsets over the bay and easy access to beachfront dining. Many accommodations here offer private balconies with sea views, great for enjoying a quiet evening together. You're also just a short stroll from various water sports operators, where you can arrange activities like paddleboarding or boat tours.

Families will also find the waterfront area highly convenient. The calm waters of the bay are suitable for children, and many properties offer amenities like swimming pools and direct beach access.

The best time to go to Rocky Point is during the autumn months, specifically September and October, or in the spring, from April to May, to enjoy pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During these shoulder seasons, the temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 20°C to 28°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and fishing. The summer heat can be intense, often exceeding 35°C, which might be uncomfortable for some travellers, especially for those planning active days.

Couples looking for a relaxing escape will find these months particularly appealing. The natural beauty of Rocky Point, with its lake views and surrounding woodlands, is at its best, and the slightly cooler temperatures are great for enjoying a quiet walk along the shore or a picnic. There's also a good chance of seeing the autumn foliage, which adds a lovely touch to the landscape.

Families with younger children might also prefer these times to avoid the peak summer crowds and the hottest weather.
