"Good ace to stay"

"The room was clean and very well keep. The staff were all very kind and always willing to facilitate you even with a language barrier. The breakfast has a great selection of Brazilian dishes. My only set back was the bar didn’t have much local beers I expected to find but the cocktails were great "

"It started off kind of awkward since we had to wait three hours for our water to be working in our room because of a leak in our bathroom. But the hotel staff were nice, and they explained that it would be done as soon as possible. However, on our second to last day, we were told that they needed to fix the leak again and we had to go to another room which was much smaller and not even close to the nice view we had in our original room. We mentioned that the water leak really didn't bother us. It was a just a tiny leak in the bathroom next to the toilet. So the hotel agreed we could stay in your original room for one more night if we want and then we would move into a room very much like the one we had the next morning. And we agreed, but my fiance noticed that leak was coming from the tank on the toilet, and she took a little plastic trash can in the room and put it underneath the toilet to catch the drip and it solved the whole problem there. We just had to monitor it for a little while and keep our great room. So luckily the hotel was okay with that. We didn't really want to pack up everything and move to another room. We were very comfortable in the room I had originally reserved. Other than that, everything was great. Breakfast was adequate; we didn't really want a giant buffet so it was as expected when I booked the room. Back to the view, it was probably the best view of any rooms. My fiance and I have a slew of awesome pictures from that room. Beautiful hotel!"

"There was little to no cleaning of the room from staff, the power went out with no way for us to get into our room and the night staff member didnt have our keycard eventhough we left it with the day staff. Eventhough he did a good job managing things, he was on his own dealing with the majority. The food was okay and when the power did come back we did get to use the service lift. Our bathroom had mould in ir and the shower head had a lot of limescale and dirt."

" I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to warn other travelers. Hotel Portobello is advertised as a 4-star property, but based on my experience, it felt closer to a 1-star hotel. The facilities are outdated and in serious need of renovation. The rooms and common areas look worn down and poorly maintained, nothing like the photos shown online. The overall condition of the property does not reflect a 4-star standard in any way. For the very high price we paid, we expected comfort, quality, and a well-maintained environment — instead, we were extremely disappointed. The value for money is simply not there. This hotel is significantly overpriced for what it offers. A 4-star rating suggests a certain level of quality, service, and upkeep, and unfortunately, this property does not deliver that experience. The only positive part of our stay was the housekeeping service. The maid did a good job keeping our room clean and making the bed, and we truly appreciated her effort. However, that was the only highlight. Overall, this was not a 4-star experience, and I would not recommend it at the price they charge. Travelers should carefully manage their expectations before booking."

"Small, very nice boutique hotel. Very clean and tastefully decorated, with an excellent breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, no one speaks a word of English, so we could only communicate via cell phone and translation tools. Otherwise, everything was wonderful and we can highly recommend the hotel."
