Good place for a bargain price
We placed order few hours before we arrived to Latvia, as other place sudenly canceled our reservation. We visited this hostel and discovered it's match it's name - Good and Cheap. Kind service, clean rooms, very queit place, at City center, near by bus/train stations and most popular places. We canceld our order just 20min after arrival, just beccause out friends invited us to stay by them.

The manager and his wife are excellent persons, very kind and courteous. But it appears owner don't want to spend any money on repairs and maintenance.

Basic. Good for one night.
Super basic, run down big apartment with rooms sharing bathroom. Water wasn't hot that day. No elevator. Wifi signal best in common area. Free tea, coffee. Friendly staff. Good if u need a budget room instead of a hostel dorm. Very close to train/ bus station.

Misleading
The street entrance is thru that hole and into another hole off the right side. Reminded me of escaping in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang thru the dungeons. The "lobby " is disgusting. But often is in this part of the world. The graffiti and flies hovering on the stairs all added to the dirt. 88 steps to the room. This was no hotel. It was adequate but not worth 24 euros. Maybe 14 . Had better and paid less in Budapest. The only good thing was the man. He was a genuinely nice person obviously corrupted by greed.

The hotel stuff was friendly,room was big,but no built in fan or iron, which you can get on request tho. Its more like a empty flat than a hotel room. Perfectly located in city centre. Close to everything. If you are on a budget go for it;but do not expect hotel. It an empty room with beds

This hotel can be only booked when you need an economical room other than hostel.becuase you will have your own room.This is good and economical. If you have heavy luggage,it is tiring job to climbe the stairs for 3-4 floors. What is good and positive for this hotel is the location! It is really in the city center and good location. If you are a group/students by making budget/economical accom. this place will be suitable for you.Do not expect lots of thing.

There is no sign outside the building indicating that the apartments are located there. At night the entrance is in an unlighted archway. If you don't contact the manager by phone you cannot get in. The apartments are on the 4th and 5th floors up steep stairs. Wi-Fi was weak. Room was clean with the bare necessities with shared bath. Staff was friendly and helpful.

No elevator.bathroom not clean/room old and smells.. Noise because wall thin.bed one place old and not comfortable Day before , I was on Rafael Hotel in Riga, and for 15 euros the night, you have a big good bed one great room with private bathroom , TV LCD , and good breakfast buffet!!!!

Near railway station is best point
Good location, but 4th floor accessed by steep, gaunt, stairs No kitchen. Very limited drinks-making facilities. Nobody around, no atmosphere. Paid 6 euros less elsewhere for a better place, en suite, TV, with breakfast................

Review
When l arrived there was no elevator; l just had huge suitcase and l had to carry it to the 4th floor. In the internet it was said that it is possible to pay with card there- in reality you cant! They said that it is broken but it seemed that it hasn´t been working for a long time ! Also, the other people who were staying there were smoking behind the main door- it is on the 4th floor but smoking inside isn´t allowed. It is really bad when others aren´t smoking and then it smells bad. Also the parts left from smoke where everywhere on the stairs.

Its a good experience to stay here. i came here to stayonly a night but i extended my stay more. its in the middle of the high street shop and the big shopping centers. very easy to get the transport to go anywhere. I must stay here if i come in this coubtry gain.

Very nice place between old town and newer sights
The location, room (apartment) and staff were all very nice. Close to main railway and bus station and just 2-3 min walk from old town and food market. The rooms (2+corridor and bathroom) had a lot of space and were very clean. No decorations - but I really don't understand who needs them anyways (go to design hotels, if looking for that :) The staff was very helpful and VERY friendly/nice indeed - extra bonus for them! Only minus is the stairway to the hotel, which might be a bit alarming, but says nothing about the hotel itself. With this prize I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
