Welcome to Big Mountain Cabin #1! Enjoy a new custom built experience. This cabin offers an open floor plan with high vaulted ceiling and a custom beam design. Cabin #1 is centrally located in the Black Hills just a few miles south of Rockerville. Many attractions are just a short drive away.
Mount Rushmore - 8 miles

Michelson Trail - 12 miles
Reptile Gardens - 7 miles
Bear Country USA - 5 miles

Cabin #1 offers a kitchen stocked with dinner ware, pot and pan, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, and outdoor grill. Relax in a bed room that has a custom built queen log bed with a memory foam mattress. It has a fully furnished bathroom that provides a full tub and shower. All linens and towels are provided.

For all you hiking enthusiasts, this cabin is close to many national forest trails including Boulder Hill Mountain Trail. This trail head is 2.2 miles from Cabin #1. And for all you mountain bike enthusiasts, this cabin is 2 miles from Storm Mountain Trail. Storm Mountain trail offers 11.61 miles of pure fun!

- Our cabins are on a hillside and there is only enough parking for one vehicle. If you have a extra vehicle, trailer, or motorcycle please message us before you make your reservation.
- If you are riding on a motorcycle, we ask that you be an experienced rider. The road to this cabin has loose gravel. If you have any questions please message us.

This cabin was cute and cozy and in an ideal location for exploring The Black Hills. It was exceptionally clean and well equipped with everything that we needed. Great place, great location!

Loved our stay at this perfect cabin. As we walked in my husband commented that it smelled brand new. It was as described, clean, comfortable, and had all that we needed for our stay visiting the area. The description of the location is accurate. We felt it was a perfect location for visiting all of the sites you want to see in the area. Jen & her husband were available and helpful, they want to ensure your stay is pleasant. Would recommend!

Centrally Located!!

We loved our stay at Big Mountain. We stayed in Cabin #1. Close to the highway for access to head to Rapid city, keystone, Custer etc. The cabin had all of our main needs and it was very clean and wonderfully decorated. We enjoyed playing cards on the front porch & grilling our dinner. Jen & her husband were super responsive and helpful, they want to ensure your stay is pleasant, they are the kind you would want to befriend. We hope to come back again to enjoy the cabin and more of South Dakota.

Cozy accommodations! Perfect location!

My husband and I had an amazing stay in this beautiful cabin! The cabin was spotless, super comfortable and well-equipped. We enjoyed using the grill and sitting out front in the evening. The location was perfect...very close to beautiful Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park. The owners, Jenn and Jude were fantastic! They were quick to respond to questions, and offered some great suggestions about what to do, where to eat, etc. They are just lovely people. We had a great stay at Big Mountain Cabins! Jenn was very responsive and the cabin was immaculate. The only thing I would have changed would be to have some place to unpack my things. Living out of a suitcase for a week is not ideal. All of that being said, Big Mountain Cabins is a great place to stay and is close to all of the best attractions!

Excellent Experience

Our first trip to the Black Hills and our first stay at this sweet cabin. This place is so cute! It was perfect for a couple and the hosts have thought of everything. We were impressed with the cleanliness and responsiveness of the hosts. Within the first 15 minutes of our arrival, we locked ourselves out of the cabin and the code on the phone inside. Jenn answered on the first ring and got us back inside. We also loved the location! It is central to everything we wanted to do. It could not have been more perfect. We highly recommend, and when we vacation in this area again, this is where we will stay!
