"Great stay at Quy Mill for 2 nights. The place was peaceful and well presented and the staff were so helpful. We were running the Newmarket half marathon and had to leave before breakfast, asked about getting something to eat early and a tray of wonderful continental selections arrived at our room bang on time. Food in restaurant was good and couldn’t believe it was £4 a pint at the bar too - bonus!"

"Breakfast was awesome Surprised that as a spa hotel there was no complimentary body lotion After a sweltering first night we got a fan which made a great difference It was a shame we didn’t get to use the gym and pool but hotel was ideally placed for the visits we needed to make. "Check in was easy, room was okay for price , I asked to add some nice touches as it was my anniversary and I’d pay extra, they just left a note on the bed. Could not use the swimming pool as advertised on the booking as swimming lessons were being done. Staff didn’t tell me that even though they gave me towels and told me where the pool was."

"Based on my two trips to Turing Locke, I don't think the company and staff can be trusted. The accommodation is advertised with certain basic services - indeed "no more sweaty nights" is on the front of the website. But when this is broken, and broken for months/years, clients are not told. I checked in on one of the hottest days in May on history. It was hotter in the next few days. But on check-in I was not told the air-conn across the hotel was broken. It was also broken 2 years ago when I stayed – the control unit gives strange messages which makes one thing it is user error – but it turns out it is centrally broken. No ability to cool (or heat), and from the reviews this has been happening for >6 months. I think 2 years given the same problem happened last time I stayed. Customers are not told the room will be too hot to sleep in before they arrive. They are not told when they check in. They need to contact reception to ask why it is so hot, at which point it is admitted the hotel is not up to the advertised standard. No offer of help to make it less unpleasant, no offer of fans or ice or ... anything. Full price costs for a room so hot it is not clearly safe (especially for small children and the elderly). On check out I was asked "how was your stay". I said "well of course, it as far too hot". Reception said "yes, but other than that has was your stay". This was indication the staff don't care about how 6 nights of poor to no sleep impacts a person on a work trip!"
