"Gorgeous view across Loch Long, peaceful location and the cottages nicely spaced so you feel alone. Beds comfortable and log burner so great nights in front of the fire. I would only add the condiments are in sachets so we bought our own olive oil and butter from a local supermarket in Dunoon, so if you like to cook you might want to bring some items with you. Definitely will return."

"Friendly and welcoming staff to this impressive building. The location, room, decor and breakfast were all huge positives. Strong smells from the kitchen did linger in the dining and lounge area. The placement of our room meant that we needed to travel through the dining room on Valentine’s evening with our belongings, which possibly affected the mood for others and felt uncomfortable. Unfortunately in the bedroom, we could hear the rooms around us including bathroom sounds. The bed was uncomfortable. "

"We recently stayed at Fern Cottage and have to say that the cottage is in a stunning location. It sits only a few feet from the edge of the loch and is surrounded by beautiful forests. Great for dog walking! The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful and we had everything we needed. We treated ourselves to a meal at The Ardentinny restaurant/pub and it was excellent. The customer service was very good. If you love being surrounded by nature then this is a great cottage to visit."

"A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location - perfect for an escape of peace and quiet. Easy access to Dunoon and only a short ferry ride and train ride from Glasgow. Situated right next to the loch with seals and dolphins to be seen - as well as the occasional submarine! Very quiet location for quiet nights and a log burner to keep it cosy and warm."

"Cosy, comfortable cottage well situated for some lovely walks. Warm and friendly welcome from the hosts with a lovely little welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits, even dog biscuits left! The cottage had everything you needed. Would certainly recommend to anybody wanting to get away from the hussle and bustle of daily life."

"Cottage was lovely ..long drive in on a single track road was the only downfall. The "midges " were awful but that's to be expected in Scotland in summer. The cottage itself was nice and comfy...the log burner was good we used it a couple of times as the weather was typical Scottish. Very relaxing time . One other problem. We had was the TV . .the Freesat box was intermittent I think this maybe had to do with the WiFi."

"When we arrived at larch cottage, we put our luggage in the downstairs bedroom. We then went in to the living room to sit down, when I got up the back of my clothes were covered in white dog hair. On closer inspection there was dog hair on the coffee table and floor. After we had a look around the cottage to find black dog hair on the downstairs bed. After moving our luggage upstairs I went for a shower to find that the temperature would not change from hot as the lever was broken. I messaged david who came around on the Sunday and was told that he could get a plumber out but never saw one, so had to just have sink washes for the rest of the stay."
