Perfect little cottage

We stayed for a week in this lovely house. It is small but beautifully formed with a cosy vibe and equipped with absolutely everything that you might need to ensure it feels like home from home. It is situated right on the shore line so if coming with dogs, like we did, you conveniently step out of the door onto the beach and there are miles and miles of forest tracks in the immediate locality for walking. Life was very simple and relaxing which was exactly what we were looking for and we would definitely be hoping to return at some point in the future

Extraordinary

We spent a very relaxing week in sunny weather in this beautiful little house. Very suitable for excursions into the surrounding area, including public transport (the bus leaves once an hour). Or to make yourself cosy in front of the fireplace when it rains.

Character property on the banks of Holy Loch. Well equipped and perfect for a short break. Only thing that could improve it would be a bigger shower as it really is tiny!

Wonderful Stay

Quaint little cosy cottage, equipped with everything you need. Wifi good, heating good, wood burning stove just lovely in the evening. Communication with owner perfect - especially when we managed to accidentally lock ourselves out, eek! - thanks for your kindness Mike. Surrounding areas fantastic for dog walks - Pucks Glen, Benmore, Ardentinny all highlights for us. Kilmun arboretum just a few steps along the road also well worth a visit. Would highly recommend, and will return!

Charming cottage, relaxing stay

Myself and husband finally got our holiday at Post Office House after rescheduling several times due to Covid lockdowns/restrictions. It was worth waiting for! Terrifically cosy place with everything we needed to relax and recharge. Loved the wood stove and the loch views. Stargazing from the bedroom gable windows. Morning walks down to the park and along the beach. Hikes in the arboretum. Drives along the coast. The list goes on. Would return in a heartbeat!

Perfect Cottage in a Perfect Location

Had a wonderful week here. The cottage is clean and very well laid out. The kitchen is well equipped with terrific views over the loch. Step out the door and your on the pier, walk around the cottage and there is a shale beech. For us the cottage was perfect. We even had the ferry tied up to the pier at night. The owner (Mike) was extremely accommodating. Due to lockdown and then health issues we had to alter our dates twice before finally getting there and this was done with no fussing around. The location of the cottage (Kilmun) is a beautiful little village strung along the shore of the loch and is an ideal base for exploring the Cowal area.

Comfortable and well-equipped cottage

A quirky, cosy and tastefully decorated star of a cottage. It is like a TARDIS! Open the two red doors to find a colourful stained glass doorway which leads into a surprisingly large open plan space. Scandinavian style aplenty. The sitting area is very cosy with a log burner. Two dining areas: one on ground level, another, down four steps, in the large, well-equipped kitchen. Lovely views of the pier with the pleasure of watching the tide rise and fall. The bathroom is on the ground floor with a great shower, very tasteful decoration again. Upstairs there is a comfortable bed and large chest which will hold whatever you bring. Great sleep, every night. The space inside has been very cleverly utilised. It is much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. We were a party of three with our pet and we had plenty room. The location , being right on the pier, is beautiful. Spend time with a cuppa just watching all the little boats bobbing and you will feel calmed in only a few moments. Kilmun is a great base for access to some of Scotland's most impressive scenery. A day visit to the Isle of Bute is a real treat, with the journey to the ferry terminal at Colintraive taking you through mountain passes that never disappoint, whatever the weather. Bute, itself, is charming, with some absolutely beautiful beaches. Mike, our host, was fantastic at communicating. Questions were answered in a flash. Very friendly and helpful. You will be hard pushed to find a better place to stay! Thanks for a great holiday, Mike.

Fantastische cottage

Goed toegeruste cottage. Duidelijke beschrijvingen over de te gebruiken faciliteiten. WiFi werkt uitstekend .

Perfect Little Getaway

Could not have asked for a lovelier stay! The house was extremely well equipped with everything we could possibly need. Also had such a cosy feel. There is lots to do round about and there is a bus that comes once an hour right at the door so we didn’t feel restricted without a car! If you want a cosy stay would 100% recommend! We are already discussing coming back :)
