The Heron Studio is a charming retreat for two, set slightly back from the beachfront for added privacy while still offering a glimpse of the ocean.

This cozy open-concept space features a kitchen, living area, and fireplace for relaxed evenings together.

Enjoy sunrise coffees or storm-watching from the shared sunset deck by the beach.

Perfect for: romantic escapes, solo wellness retreats, add-on suite for wedding groups.

The property is home to four suites, thoughtfully designed to provide both privacy and community.

Guests have access to shared amenities, including the BBQ pergola, two fire pits, the oceanfront hot tub (by appointment), and our glass-panel sauna (extra add-on). Refresh with the outdoor shower and cold bucket splash, or take a plunge into the ocean.

As your hosts, we’re available to ensure you have a comfortable and memorable stay. We respect your privacy but are always just a message away.

Guests enjoy full access to all of Arbutus Cove Retreat’s outdoor amenities.

Shared spaces include the beach area, sunset deck, BBQ pergola, and cozy fire pits.

The oceanfront hot tub is available by appointment, while our glass-panel sauna is offered as an optional add-on (extra $15/hour). Refresh with the outdoor shower and invigorating bucket splash, or take a rejuvenating plunge into the ocean.

Please note: advance booking via our website is required for both the hot tub and sauna to ensure availability, privacy, and a personalized experience.

Ideally situated half way between Powell River and Lund, 15 minutes each way. A beautiful tranquil place for you, your family and friends to escape into the stunning Pacific Northwest!

Although Powell River is on the mainland, it will require a couple of ferry rides (Horseshoe Bay to Langdale and Earl's Cove to Saltery Bay) to get to it because it is not directly linked with the rest of the provincial road network.

In the summer months it’s a good idea to make a ferry reservation from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale. Reservations are not available on the 2nd leg, from Earls Cove to Saltery Bay.

Lower suite (Cedar Suite) - sleep 6 people

Upper suite (Hemlock Suite) - sleeps 6 people

Studio suite (Heron Suite) - sleeps 2 people

Paradise in Powell River

We had an amazing stay in the Heron Suite. Exceptionally well kept with such nice scenery and amenities. Our hosts made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. A must visit.

Perfect peaceful getaway

This spot is lovely and cozy with tons of cozy touches. We loved the wood burning stove and the cabin itself is thoughtfully appointed. We enjoyed the cedar tub and our pup loved the beach. The hosts were excellent with timely updates when en route and answered our questions quickly and friendly. We are already talking about returning later in the year and can’t wait.

We loved this space!

A beautifully appointed one bedroom suite with a thoughtful, well-equipped kitchen. Great location, views and easy beach access with all the amenities. Very attentive and friendly hosts, including chilled sparkling wine awaiting our arrival. We will definitely go back!

Relaxing stay right at the beach

We felt right at home in this beautiful and well equipped suite. There was a heat warning during our stay, but with the fans provided and a cooler ocean breeze at night we were still comfortable. The hosts are amazing and their property is absolutely stunning. We spent hours relaxing at the beach taking it all in. Thank you for being pet friendly!

Anniversary getaway

My husband and I really enjoyed our getaway at Arbutus Cove Resort in the Heron Suite. It was the perfect size for us and our small dog. We appreciated arriving in the suite with ambient music playing and the relaxing scent of the aromatherapy diffuser welcoming us. Both Sean & Jenny were gracious & wonderful hosts and were always available if/when needed. The piece de resistance of course was found outside in the ocean water hot tub! We LOVED relaxing in there while soaking in the expansive views of the ocean and even dipping into the calm waters. When not in the hot tub, it was so good to just chill in the gazebo on the beach or on an Adirondack chair around the fire pit. We’d love to go back!

A small slice of paradise!

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and found the hosts were perfect; friendly, informative and quick to respond to our questions about the location and area in general. The unit was efficiently laid out, was well stocked and the fireplace made the evenings very cozy. We loved using the ‘cooker’ and plan to buy one for ourselves. The location was also perfect as it was between Lund and Powell River so we could easily travel in either direction without the long drive. The hot tub was welcoming along with the beachside gazebo. The wildlife was fun to spot and the sound of the bullfrogs at night was amazing. This is a place we would be happy to return to and would have no hesitation recommending to others! Did we mention it was pet friendly as well!

No electricity in the kitchen area

Hi the place was very clean & cute. The owners live steps away so no privacy. The owners were very nice. We had to email then half a dozen times because the electricity didn’t work. It was very hard using the kitchen area because the power kept going off twice during dinner & we never even got to make a cup of coffee in the morning because again the electricity kept going off. They’d fix it go home & it was off again. The bed is a double too small & the hot tub is just a cedar tub with no jets. We were told we’d get a full refund. We got it less 150.09 not impressed
