"Opul Boutique is new and you can tell its been 'revamped' quickly and on a budget. Bedding etc is all clean and new but furniture is tired. In room equipment (TV, coffee machine etc) is all new. Wifi did not extend to the room effectively and kept dropped out and the table to work on was too small. The rooms are spacious an plain on the walls. Given the history of the building this seems like a missing opportunity. Additionally there are no curtains up so light comes in and will affect you if...

Nice location, nice house, but details matter!

"We had a great stay during the Tourist Trophy race week and enjoyed our stay in Port Erin very much. The house was spacious and well equipped, with comfortable beds and plenty of linen and towels for everyone. The garage was a big plus, as we arrived with private motorcycles.Also, the property manager was really nice and responsive.However, small details matter and left a bit of a sour taste in everyone's mouth:- There was mildew in the corners of the bathtub. It would be good to re-caulk the first floor bathroom. It doesn't cost a fortune and makes a much better impression.- There was a burnt spatula and a soft one with a burnt rim. It would take maybe 10.- at the local Tesco to replace these items and they would make a way better impression.- The coffee maker had some nasty, dark residue in the water tank. Someone probably poured coffee in there, but it might have been something else. Again, you can only make one first impression...I would have liked to give an all 5-star review, but these issues should not happen for the price we paid. Of course, I don't know what else goes on on the IoM during TT week, so we might have been very lucky. :-)All in all, we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Thanks!"

"Ideal holiday accommodation for family with satisfying facilities. The seaside view of dinning and living room are wonderful. All rooms are very clean and comfortable. The location is also perfect if you just want to stavocation in the South of the Isle of Man. The broadband speed is the only frustrating thing for me since it's not fast and stable. The local bus service is good but it may take a longer time to wait for steam train if you plan to travel o the North within a day. "

Quay Cottage - a holiday cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

Beautifully faultless

"[Booked through Vrbo but serviced by Island Escapes]The property was a delight, a few yards from the harbour with all three floors offering stunning views over the harbour and the sea out to the west. The property was immaculately finished and maintained, seemingly only recently redecorated. The downstairs galley kitchen was small but perfectly functional, with top-brand appliances abounding. The downstairs en-suite bedroom and second floor en-suite bedrooms were clean, comfortable and delightfully decorated. Note that the upstairs bathroom only has a shower over the bath, although the downstairs bedroom's small en-suite has a walk-in shower.The first (middle) floor is the lounge and dining area, with two sofas and a fairly small TV (that some may find a little too small). Really comfortable though, with the heating almost being too good at times (despite it being February).Would recommend sleeping in the upper bedroom with the blinds open so you can experience the glorious first light and subsequent sunrise.Nearby is the Albert pub where the Okells is bob on, and there's a Co-op and a couple of takeaways within a few minutes' stroll. The walks along the seafront and around the picturesque harbour are spectacular.It really is a stunning property. "

"Overall very good, from a personal perspective it would be good if there was a king size bed, the main toilet upstairs the flush on the toilet was difficult to use. Very clean, thoughtful touches would definitely come back."

"Kittiwake House was an excellent place to stay in Port Erin and a very convenient base for exploring all of Isle of Man. There's so much within a short walk (Tesco, restaurants, takeaway, The Isle of Man Railway, etc) that a handier location is hard to imagine. The view over the strand to the bay and surrounding cliffs is magnificent. The flat makes a nice home away from home for all the needs and comforts during travel, and we appreciated being able to spread out and eat at home for some meals. One temporary challenge we had was that parking is on-street parking that, while free, isn't always available. We arrived during a beautiful beach day, and all nearby street parking was occupied. We had to begin sightseeing straightaway and return later in the day when people began leaving the beach. Overall, great holiday!"
