"Pros: the flat was perfect for exploring the island's south coast and located in a lovely seaside village. The owner is very nice and has thought of everything that you need in the flat, so you need to take nothing much with you. The bath/shower and kitchen are fine, the beds clean and comfortable, the lounge comfortable. "I stayed here for one night as an airport stopover. I must admit I do not understand the terrible reviews. Yes the decor in the rooms is basic and a little tired. But the bedding, towels and room was very clean. It’s a 24H reception which is perfect for late arrivals and breakfast is included. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is buffet style with a great selection. It’s close to the bus stop to the airport and the bus takes 5mins and cost c€2 The little town it’s in has several coffee shops, bars, restaurants and shops/supermarkets. I couldn’t fault it for an overnight stay If you want 5star don’t stay here but if you want value for money for a short stay, with a friendly service and good surrounding amenities I would recommend"

"This is the third time I’ve stayed here and it just keeps getting better. We had a villa that sleeps 6, which was a double with en-suite, a twin room and a double fold down bed in the living room. I was excellent with a large patio that got the sun all day. The villa had everything you could ask for, cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryers, ironing board, perfect. The pool area was pretty quiet due to it being the quiet season but it was lovely. The pool bar was fantastic with the Inti steak wrap an absolute winner. (Make sure you order it the day before) The area is perfect for a relaxing holiday with the Golden Bay Chinese restaurant a stand out. Our only disappointment was that Golf Del Sur golf course was close longer than expected, so we never got to play it. Amarilla golf is five minutes away so didn’t spoil the holiday. Every single member of staff that we came across was excellent, they constantly kept in touch via WhatsApp and provided us with excursion suggestions and local events. Look forward to returning."

"Loved the entertainment area around the pool. Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were very clean and tidy. Check in and out extremely efficient. Great views from.the rooms. Shuttle bus handy and very friendly driver. Honesty bar amazing idea for late check in. Breakfast was extremely busy so worth getting there early or last minute. We had the top floor so very quiet at night and got an amazing sleep. No scraping of furniture on the floors late at night!!! Would definitely consider staying again"

"Lovely hotel, really impressed on arrival, the staff in particular are lovely! It’s also pretty well priced. After a few days you do start to notice it’s getting a bit tired in places and could do with a bit of a refresh. The pool(s) are fantastic, not sure about the other comments re being able to get sunbeds all the time - if you arnt down before 9 you’re going to struggle."

"We’ve been staying at the Santa Barbara for many years, and have written about it before. It’s still a lovely place to stay if you want the freedom of an apartment and don’t want to be too close to the main resorts. Whilst the hotel isn’t your normal all-inclusive, the staff are excellent, and the hotel itself is situated right next to a beautiful rugged coastline. The area is quiet, but there are plenty of places to eat and some charming villages, such as Los Abrigos and El Medano. Highly recommended"
