Bird's Nest on Little Gasparilla Island
. Perched high on pilings, Bird's Nest welcomes couples and families looking for a peaceful island retreat. Rent together with our sister property, Bay Watch, for groups up to thirteen guests.



Enjoy bay and island views from the upper observation deck, or take a short stroll to the beach for spectacular sunsets and shelling. This cozy one-bedroom, one-bath apartment shares the property with Bay Watch. Please note that the front stairs are shared.
Accommodates: up to six guests (one queen bed and two full futons).
Amenities include: satellite WiFi, air conditioning, 75 inch Smart TV, washer and dryer, linens, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes and utensils, kayak, two paddleboards, books, games, cornhole, darts, hammock, beach chairs and towels. No dishwasher.



Pets are welcome with owner approval and $150 fee. No smoking.
Sunday check-ins must be approved.



Golf cart rentals are available on the island through local providers (not included with this rental).
Boat-only access - the barge landing is directly in front of the property.

Rates: subject to 12 percent tax, cleaning and reservation fees. $500 refundable security deposit required.
Credit card payments: subject to 3 percent fee (may be avoided by paying by check).
Located between Sarasota and Fort Myers, Little Gasparilla Island is a private, bridgeless barrier island offering a true Old Florida experience. There are no paved roads or stores-just sandy trails, tropical foliage, peaceful beaches, and endless relaxation. Enjoy fishing, shelling, bird watching, and incredible sunsets in this secluded paradise.

Our stay at Birds Nest

We cannot say enough about how wonderful our recent 2 week stay was on LGI!!! This property is in an excellent location. It was spotless on our arrival. Pretty much everything that we needed was available. We hope to come back next year!!!

Beautiful place and well stocked!

The property was conveniently located right by dock 44. We had awesome communication with the host, who was very accessible and responsive. There were plenty of towels, a fully stocked kitchen with great cooking supplies and plenty of room for us. We had a medical emergency during our visit and the on-island paramedic was quick and responsive. Help arrived swiftly from the mainland to get our loved one the medical care she needed. Would highly recommend!

Great Views of Bay

The home was well prepared and clean. We found everything in working order. Had a bad storm one evening and lost Wi-Fi but that was addressed and resolved swiftly. It was very peaceful and calming just what we needed. Due to the heat wasn't prepared for the dock to feel like a walk across of the football field . Thank goodness it was a short walk to the home. Heat was brutal during our week. We meet nice neighbors and took advantage of family time. Would stay here again as she was an excellent communicator.

Island living - access by personal boat or water taxi only

This rental was perfect for our Family of 4... Mom, Dad, and two boys 7 and 10. The property is right on the intercostal... easy walking distance from the Bay St Dock (#44). We brought our own boat which was great, there were lots of empty slips in mid-April. The beach is about a 10 minute walk the other direction. If you don't mind bringing your own entertainment... this is the SPOT for you! Be certain to do your research... there are no stores or restaurants on this island.

Great spot on LGI. Located on the bay with an easy walk to the gulf. Would definitely stay again.

Quiet relaxing family island vacation

Island does require a water taxi so little planning is required but that allows for a very peaceful quiet relax to island. Host a loud day golf cart rental which was very handy to explore the island. The beach is a short walk maybe about two blocks less than five minutes. Property has a screened in porch that overlooks the Bayside which is so great for meals, etc. Property is very close so to the dock , which helps when hauling luggage.
