"Our third time to visit, hopefully WIFI will be added to the property. The neighbours dog was bold, making its way throught the back door to pull out the garbage. He wasn't deterred when shooed away, the owner heard me and took control of the dog"

"A super clean, tidy, and comfortable place to stay in laid back Kawhia, The ever changing view over the harbour as the tide rolled in and out was very relaxing and even though the fishing trip was cancelled due to the big swell we had some quality time to chill out. "The bach is located in a very quiet street with a beautiful view of the mountain. The kids loved climbing in the Pōhutukawa tree and using the swings. The bach could do with a deep clean and fixing the shower but the owners have made a decent effort to put in new carpets, nice decor, good furniture and new appliances. Kawhia itself is a beautiful little town and we loved going down to Hot water beach."

"Property is fine. I did have to ask for details on how to get in on the day we were due to arrive but we received them in plenty of time before we checked in. The road noise is loud. I'd go prepared with earplugs if you're not used to being that close to traffic normally! Not something the owner can change but something to note when traveling with kids or elderly like I was."

"We stayed here with our 2 kiddos ages 10 & 12. It was clean and cute and the kids were totally blown away by the experience of staying in a hobbit house! It definitely has a motel vibe, and the kitchenette is small, but there were some decorating touches that really added to the hobbit feel. The owners provided space heaters that were really nice to have, but the bunk room definitely developed a musty smell that we couldn’t get rid of.
