"The hotel is in the middle of a remodel, which I was unaware about when booking. Especially since room rate was full on summer rates just as every other year we’ve stayed. Not the end of the world but along with updating rooms, they also changed some of their perks. We’ve stayed numerous times at this hotel because of its amenities, largely the beach concierge service. So I was sad to hear that they were no longer offering this service. They still have all beach needs to borrow. Another change was their breakfast. It felt a bit scaled back compared to all the years we’ve been coming. I also noticed the yard games weren’t out on the grassy areas to play. I understand that they’re in the middle of remodel so that could be why. Unfortunately our room was at the edge where they were working on the building next to us. So 8am and they were moving large items up to the second floor by our door. The updated rooms are nice, wish theyd of kept the old balcony chairs as these were too large to turn them toward the ocean view to enjoy, and wish they’d kept the mattresses they’d had previously because the new ones aren’t comfortable. The bathrooms are nicely upgraded to showers which is great unless you have a toddler as I do who refuses to stand under water. I see some nice updates I just worry they are letting go of some of their amenities that I felt made the price worth the stay."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Seamless checkin/out process..the rental was clean, perfectly located next to beach, and only regret is that we couldn't stay longer."

"We had a great vacation! The house is located close to the beach, in fact we sat on the balcony deck and listened to the waves crash into the late hrs. We enjoyed our early cup of coffee sitting out in the 2 chairs as the early morning sun was breaking through, I will miss this very much. My wife and I also sat out there in the evenings, so peaceful. It It was very nice having a table to sit and eat dinner out on the balcony, as well as a beautiful dinning room table to gather around inside. The rooms were very nice, the kitchen and front dinning area was beautiful. We used the BBQ to cook 2 dinners. The beds were comfortable to sleep, and the bathrooms were very nice, especially the downstairs shower, it was huge and beautiful. Parking was fantastic, no matter what time we returned to the beach house, we had reserved on property parking places, did not have to fight for any street parking in front of the house. All in all, I would definitely recommend this house to someone coming to Avila to vacation and enjoy their time."
