Kia ora Nikki I sincerely apologize for any discomfort you may be experiencing and appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. We take all guest concerns seriously and have conducted a thorough inspection of your room and nothing you allude to has been found. I also welcomed you to come and check the bed with me, but you declined. I can assure you that no bedbugs were found during the inspection as we have bug resistant mattress covers specially developed for commercial accommodation. When I mentioned this to you, you dismissed it out of hand. Doing some research, bite marks may take as long as 14 days to manifest in some people so because you noticed marks a day afterwards means you’re unlikely to have received it here. You’d need to retrace all the places where you’ve stayed at during the last two weeks and offer them the same advice you’ve generously offered us. This may include, but not be limited to, other motels, your own home and that of friends and family. It's important to note that there can be various reasons for skin irritations, and it's not always related to bedbugs. Many other insect bites and spider bites look the same, so this isn't definitive either. Our rooms are regularly inspected and treated to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for our guests. Of the literal hundreds of people that have used the room prior to your arrival and all those after your departure, not even one has raised an issue. This supports the view that you did not receive that here and were most likely bitten prior to your arrival. If you are still experiencing discomfort, I recommend seeking medical attention to determine the cause of your symptoms. Best regards
