They went the xtra mile, Our late sailing was a hour late. And they left a note telling us what room and even left the lights on for us. TOP Marks. I would recommend to all.
Nothing but a run down motel. Got to room windows open and had to kill at least 10 flies. Rooms needed repair and painting. Stayed in 10 hotels, B&B’s and motels on the South Island and this was by far the worst. Do not recommend. Front desk not very friendly either.

Just a quick family stay but very comfortable and good location. There are steps up to a mezzanine level so our room would have actually slept 5. Recommend.

No water pressure in shower. Bathroom and shower ledges need a good scrub.
Whilst the property needs an upgrade there is no excuse for uncleanliness. Especially as the property is pricey compared to other motels we have stayed in around the country.
I arrived very late at night (due to a delay in my ferry from Wellington), and was worried whether I would be able to get into my room. But no need to worry - the manager had left a note for me in the reception's window, giving me directions.
Though this is an older property it is very clean and the management staff are very courteous, helpful and willing to please. A couple of nights here was no problem at all.
The motel Ali’s perfectly positioned in the township of Picton with restaurants and cafes close by. The room was much nicer than the photos -‘very comfortable and clean.
The staff were helpful and friendly. Good value for money.
