Brilliant stay. Hostess very friendly and breakfast was one of the best I've had. Nice place and very homely. Great location if you want to see the surrounding area. Pickering itself was limited if you wanted evening meals and not just pub food but we found an Indian restaurant within a 2 minute walk from the hotel which was recommend.

We were surprised that you did not use the additional heater we provided in your room. It was extremely cold outside. You could have informed us that you were cold and we would have tried our best to remedy the situation.We are not really sure what you mean by upgrade.

Our recent stay at the Crossways was lovely, Pauline and Simon really make you feel at home from the minute you walk through the door nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit Pickering.

Crossways Pickering centre of a great world.
Crossways was a unique experience of life in a hotel in a bygone era,where time stood still,everything was prim and proper and every thing was just perfect. Paulines hotel decor reflects her love of her life and time spent in years of world wide hotel management, and it shows in her wonderful down to earth attitude,her amazing breakfasts, and professionalism with a hint of humour for her guests. Great location in the middle of Pickering and ideal for visits to Whitby, Scarborough,Bridlington etc. Fantastic steam train ride on your door step. Excellent large free car park at rear of the property and gateway through garden to hotel. Nothing was too much trouble to please guests. My wife and I enjoyed every moment of our 4 night stay. You will want to go back again.

We feel like we've discovered something of a little treasure. Crossways b&b is lovely. Our room was spacious with a such a comfortable bed. It had lovely extra touches like a little jar of biscuits with the tea & coffee making facilities, a little bowl of sweets & a sewing kit. An amazing choice for breakfast with different food allergies catered for. We received such a warm friendly welcome & will certainly stay there again.

Traditional family owned, friendly and welcoming. Left to do what we wanted. Key to main entry at rear provided. Great price. Great location. Good welcoming tray with chocolate biscuits. Little extras like shampoo/shower gel. En suite with fresh clean towels. Nice to see bedding being dried on washing line on arrival.Needles/cotton and pins. Good choice at breakfast all freshly made with good ingredients.spacious room with a very comfortable double bed and 2 pillows. Lots of shops and takeaways on the doorstep. Things we didnt like were heavy trafic starting from around 5am. Bath with shower attatched to taps no fixing to wall and no covering on bathroom window i.e blind as its quite a large bathroom window in room 11 if you stand up in the bath, if anyone were to glance up from the busy roads they would get an eyeful. Put us off using the bath or shower. Tv wasnt working, i did forget to mention this to the owners as we were leaving. Little problem at breakfast but was dealt with promptly. Little bit cold in the large room but as we arrived back late we didnt want to wake anyone up to ask for the heating to be turned on. Slight smell of damp in bedroom area.

A lovely three storey house with vintage style and a fish pond in the garden. The house is run by a mature couple providing a beautifully cooked breakfast who are full of local information

Very helpful owners who organised a cab to get me to my work event when I called ahead. Greeted me with a cold beer on arrival for my short turnaround time. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable.

We loved our 4 night stay at The Crossways. Good location for walking around Pickering or driving to the North York Moors or York and free parking on site. On arrival we were offered a cup of tea and biscuits in the sitting room. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean with choice of hot drinks and biscuits. Great selection of toiletries and dressing gowns provided. Pity it rained as it would have been nice to sit out in the garden. We had mentioned we were vegan on booking and were given a great choice of vegan breakfast. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area

Very friendly and welcoming hotel
We had a nice welcome to the hotel the room was a twin as requested and the beds were very comfortable the only downside was the shower. The temperature could not be controlled. However, we did not make an issue of it because we used the bath. The breakfast was especially good with quality ingredients Used.

The property is very homely, comfortable and charming, very clean and well looked after by the lovely owners Paul and Pauline. Everything you need is on hand. We were welcomed with a much appreciated pot of coffee and cakes, Pauline is a wonderful cook, and breakfast was well presented and set us up for the day. The room was very clean and attractive, with a large comfortable bed. The garden is beautiful and well looked after. I would reccommend this hotel as a most enjoyable place to stay, a great base if you want to visit nearby towns and attractions in every direction. We would definately go back!

We were given a very warm welcome upon arrival and shown to our rooms and had everything explained. We were then invited downstairs to the lounge for a complimentary cup of tea or coffee Plus some nice carrot cake and buns. The room was clean and warm and the bed comfortable and warm, the shower was fine and there was plenty of hot water. We were helped to sort a taxi for the evening . The breakfast was exceptional and plenty of it with more offered to us should we wish for it. The owner was very friendly and chatty and was quite happy to converse with us on numerous subjects regarding our lives, the reason for the stay and also her experiences in life and with the hotel. it was a very friendly environment and we are recommending the hotel to friends who may wish to stay there in September this year when we have our Vow renewal on the railway.

At the centre of Pickering
The chief advantage of this B&B is it's location: at the crossroads in the centre of Pickering. The downside is that there is some traffic noise. The building is old-fashioned in decor and without double-glazing. WiFi is poor and sometimes disappears. The rear car park is not obvious and requires parking at an angle. Breakfast was good and a nice choice of hot dishes.
