"The location is everything. It’s about a 12 minute walk to the train station but there is also a bus right outside the property. It’s conveniently located within the walls and walkable everywhere with lovely places to pop for a drink or a bite to eat nearby. You do need to walk up some steep stairs to get to the rooms so beware if you aren’t packing light! The room we had was lovely with two spacious bedrooms that were divided by a door (a/c only in one and the interior person would have to walk through the other’s room to use the bathroom). The beds were very firm but comfortable and the large bathroom was well appointed. The shower did not drain well so you ended up standing in water but for a couple of nights, it wasn’t a problem. We appreciated the water and the sweets left for us on check in and the communal coffee machine was a nice touch (and the other guests were very quiet as well). Stefano was great at communicating check-in and welcomed us on time. I’d stay here again without hesitation."

"This place was great. We loved the location and the breakfast were outstanding. Room was large and cool. We had a bathtub and it was very relaxing and comfortable. they even had a bicycle we used to drive around the city walls. Loved it!"

"Our third stay here, which should tell you everything. The ideal location is a few minutes walk from the heart of Lucca in a quiet little back alley, each room is a little bit of heaven, thoughtfully curated to make them all a cosy home from home with lovely views across the city rooftops. The staff are superb and can't do enough for you and the alfresco breakfast to die for. Looking forward to my next visit."

"A lovely stay in the heart of Lucca! We really enjoyed our stay at Lucca Charm. The location is fantastic — right in the heart of Lucca and within easy walking distance of the main sights, restaurants, cafés and shops. It was particularly convenient being able to come and go easily during the day. The property has lots of character and charm, and our family room was cleaned every day and was comfortable, with a double bed and bunk beds for the children. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning was very much appreciated, as it was very hot in Lucca during our stay. Check-in was a little less straightforward than expected, as Matteo wasn't able to be there when we arrived. We initially struggled a little with the key, which needs to be positioned correctly in the keyhole before it will turn. We called Matteo and he was very helpful, video-calling us to talk us through it. Once we had got the hang of it, everything was completely smooth sailing for the rest of our stay. Matteo was a friendly and helpful host. We also enjoyed the breakfast arrangement at the café around the corner — a nice way to start the day with good coffee and pastries. You can also choose a sandwich instead of pastries. Being so central does mean there can be some street noise, but for us the fantastic location more than made up for this. Overall, a charming, comfortable and very well-located place to stay, and excellent value for a family. We would happily stay here again in the future."
