Renaissance Phuket is a great hotel with an amazing outdoor space and swimming pool. It does need renovation in the rooms and bar area and a bit more attention to cleanness. Some of the staff are really good with a great sense of service. We have been coming for years, but we can’t help to notice that the service and amenities are going down every year. No more welcome plate or snacks, no more turn down service, food in room service is not to standard, they bring food without any protection on it on some occasions. Overall we love this place but it needs to go back to its original standard.

For us the Villa with own pool is the best option to go for. Last time we stayed we had breakfast and diner included whereas this time we went for all meals plus two cocktails each day and a treatment each in the Spa. Having all meals was a mistake as we found that we couldn’t eat everything but for those with a large appetite it would be worthwhile. We would like to mention the lady who made up our Villa every day. Her name was Amm and she was a treasure being super efficient.

I have had the pleasure of staying at this amazing property a number of times over the past 11 years and it has always been a superb experience every time. This year I have stayed twice, each time for just 3 or 4 nights and I cannot wait for the next opportunity to stay again. The staff are incredible and look after all their guests as VIPs. The hotel rooms and pool villas are out of this world - it doesn't matter what type of room I've stayed in here they are all incredibly comfortable - although the pool villas are definitely my favourites!! The facilities are top class, the choice of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner is superb, the Sandbox beach bar looks fantastic after its' makeover and all these things, combined with being right on the beachfront in Mai Khao, make the Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa experience a delight - every single time. One of my absolute favourite hotels to stay in anywhere in the world. Many thanks to all the staff that work so hard that have made my stays so enjoyable.

The property itself was everything you’d expect from Marriott. However, there was a chicken and rooster habitat just beyond a wire fence about 20ft from our room’s front door. The rooster’s concept of time was just as screwed up as ours with their faint crowing. When we first arrived there was a very strong urine smell that we determined was coming from the rug under the bed. Once we notified the front desk, they immediately came and, per our request, removed the rug entirely. The staff was very friendly and took care of it very quickly. Once settled in, we took a nap and called the front to see if we could get some coffee delivered to us because it was 5 am before their breakfast opened. However, we were sorely disappointed to be given 2 instant coffee satchels accompanied by 2 instant creamer satchels on a tray. Aside from all this, the room was immaculate with heated toilet seat and a bidet. The bathroom itself was enclosed in a half glass wall with venetian blinds. Our room was always stocked with the complimentary water bottles. And their breakfast buffet was phenomenal! The servers were all on point with taking our drink orders, taking our plates and assisting where they could. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. Last but not least, we had friends staying at another hotel next to us and upon meeting them for dinner and breakfast at their hotel, we were grateful that we stayed at the Renaissance by Marriott.

Wunderschönes Hotel mit super Tagesprogramm inklusive täglich Sportkurse und Fahrradtour etc. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Es ist in der Nähe nicht super viel los, also wenn man mehr Trubel möchte und nicht lange fahren will, lieber ein Hotel südlich vom Flughafen

Beach and Chill

Beautiful property, immaculately maintained, amazing staff, perfect beach - eco friendly more than I’ve seen elsewhere from straws to coffee cup covers. Near Phuket International airport.

Tolle und wunderschöne Hotelanlage

Das einzig Mangelhafte an unserem Aufenthalt war das Wetter. Tolles Hotel, super freundliches Personal, sehr gutes Essen - und wir sind vegan! - und grosses Angebot an Aktivitäten wie Yoga, Gym etc.

Nice beach but no 5 stars

The beach is very nice and clean. Also, the tropical garden and design of the hotel is nice and modern. The personnel is super friendly. However, this hotel is not a 5 star class hotel compared to other global standards and 5 star hotels on Phuket for following reasons: - the pool is very very small and totally crowded. It is not a pleasure to use the pool and I rate a pool experience high. In case the waves are very high there is no alternative and a hotel of this size would need a pool to swim some lanes... - the prices are absolutely way to overprized compared to a usual price- performance ratio. Besides the high price niveau which cannot be justified by exceptional quality, additionally a service fee of 10% is added e.g. in the restaurant plus 7% VAT, so additionally 17% on top of the already high prices. - the hotel pays attention to sustainability. However, the same hotel uses a bug spray in the garden area which led to a situation that on the next day a lot of dead bugs such as bees were laying all over the place. The hotel does this in good purpose because a lot of tourists do not like bugs, however, this is contradicting the sustainability concept and let those animals live here as they belong to Phuket and this area as well. If tourists cannot handle a bug in the tropical area, they should stay away from traveling here. Put nature first and allow some butterflies such as other resorts. - an earlier checkin was not possible although the room was ready.

Nice. Excellent service. All staff super helpful. Credit to the hotel. No beach access only downside. There is a beach you can see but not go on - cliff.
