The motel room I paid for was not fit to be stayed in. It should have been closed for repairs & remodeling. The TV didn't work. The toilet wouldn't flush The lamp was broken. There were no towels, soap or shampoo. There was a big hole in the ceiling in the bathroom. Cement or materials fell onto the floor. Something was coming out if the shower not was broken inside. A plumbing issue.. We asked for a different room. The front desk lady told us nothing else was available. She seemed to think it was normal. The only 2 good things about my stay there was they had coffee in the lobby the next morning. The beds were fine. Nothing was wrong with the sheets, blankets or pillows. My driver & I needed to stay the night after I moved to Mesa, Arizona from West Hollywood, California. We arrived later in the evening. I have stayed at different Motel 6 motels and was satisfied with my experience and often recommended them. This time something was terribly wrong. We should have been offered a different room. Or, it should be closed to the public. Not right at all. I believe I should be offered a refund or partial refund for being booked into an unfit room.

The staff was helpful and patient. The air conditioning worked. The Motel 6 was shabby, but clean. My friend was most disturbed by the numbers of people (with their cats and dogs) who seemed to be loitering outside our room and who didn’t appear to have any consideration for the other guests.

Check-in was quick. Clerk was polite and helpful. I was near the laundry machines, which operated until 5 pm . I was on the opposite side of the building, to the light rail line. There were many cats around. It sounded like one was in heat.
