The best area to stay in Perušić is directly within the village centre, particularly near Pećinski Park Grabovača.

The village centre of Perušić is small and easily navigated on foot, with most amenities concentrated around the main square and along the road leading to the Grabovača Cave Park. You'll find local shops, traditional eateries, and guesthouses here, offering a genuine taste of rural Lika life. The Grabovača Cave Park, home to the Samograd Cave, is a significant natural attraction located just a short distance from the heart of the village.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will appreciate staying in the village centre. It offers a quiet base from which to explore the natural beauty of the Lika region, including the nearby river Lika for fishing or kayaking. The proximity to the Grabovača Cave Park means you can enjoy nature without long travel times.

For those seeking an active outdoor holiday, staying near the village centre is also ideal. This area provides convenient access to hiking and cycling trails that wind through the surrounding countryside, offering opportunities to discover the region's landscapes at your own pace.

The best time to visit Perušić is generally during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

These shoulder seasons offer comfortable temperatures for exploring the outdoors, with mild days great for hiking, cycling, and visiting natural attractions like the Grabovača Cave Park. You'll find fewer tourists compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed and authentic experience. It's also a great time to enjoy local produce and regional cuisine without the rush.

For those looking to enjoy the full warmth of the Croatian summer and don't mind more visitors, July and August are also suitable. This period is ideal for water activities in nearby rivers or for those who prefer longer daylight hours for sightseeing. However, it can be hotter and more crowded, especially at popular spots.
