Loved the MCM decor, the salt water pool open 24 hrs. Great little radio in my room although I couldn’t figure out how to get on Bluetooth. My only complaint is the ac didn’t work so great in my room. I will return!

We love the Skylark so much. We’ve been coming a few times a year for 3 years now and it’s been so great seeing the property improve each time with the renovation that’s underway. It’s so great to have the breakfast each morning, especially when we bring our kids. One thing that could be improved is increasing the number of hooks in the bathroom to hang towels/wet bathing suits. Also some kind of shower caddy/suction shelf in the shower. Regardless, I’ve already booked my return trip for later this year :)

Great choice for proximity to restaurants and activities we had planned. Scott at check in was so friendly and helpful - we really felt welcome! Free parking was a bonus as this was not included in many nearby properties. Breakfast in the morning was great !

We had a wonderful stay at The Skylark. The grounds are super cute and well kept and great mountain views. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. We had to extend our stay an extra night due to a flight cancellation and not only were they able to keep us in the same room, they only charged us our original rate for the extra night! During the week it was pretty quiet, busier Friday/Saturday, but the pool was never full. The breakfast is fine, same everyday but enough options to fill you up. Location is about a 15 min walk from the main downtown strip (but close to some good stops like Heyday, Boozehounds and Uptown Gastropub). They were still working on the bar/cafe, but the construction was not noticeable/disruptive during our stay. Definitely recommend!

Needs a lot of update in regards to aesthetics and functionality. The bathroom sink design does not work, the water drips all over when you use it. No place to put toiletries in the shower. Needs blackout drapes. Great staff. Easy check in/out process. Close parking. Nice breakfast at not additional cost. Beautiful pool with mountain backdrop. Excellent location to walk to various restaurants.

Really cool, retro motel in a great part of town with a nice pool and breakfast facilities. The hotel would be really great when they open up their cocktail bar which is currently under Construction.

Old school with a modern vibe...
I really enjoyed the throwback feel of this hotel, and the proximity to everything you would want to visit in Palm Springs. The room was clean, the pool was heated and the hot tub was great, and the free breakfast was above par. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable and easy place to stay.

Awesome pool and hot tub! Clean grounds and lovely landscaping. The staff was friendly and the folks taking care of cleaning the rooms did an amazing job. I would definitely stay here again.

We would stay here again.
The best parts of the room was it's large size, comfort, and places to store clothing. The breakfast was also better than we expected, although the quiche gets cold quickly (although even then it was tasty). The downside was the drain on our shower worked poorly and it never got fixed (over a weekend). The location was great: an easy 5 minute ride to downtown, very near the aerial tramway, but in a quiet location.

Overall good. They were going through a renovation on the front part of the hotel, but they did a good job accommodating guests through the process. The staff was very responsive to questions, or needs of the guests. The free breakfast was one of the highlights. A quality arrangement of quality food. Great egg frittata, and organic options. Unlike other hotels that have cheap food. They put effort and thoughtfulness behind the meal. My only light complaint was that the room attendant only cleaned the basics. Floors weren’t cleaned at times, but overall okay. The other thing is that the hotel played music throughout the grounds, sometimes too loud but okay. They were probably trying mitigate the noise from the renovation. Again, these are light comments. Overall a nice hotel and great time there.

Classic Palm Springs vibe with a nice pool and rooms with beautiful Mountain View’s. The vintage design combined with the view was very relaxing. Hotel was very clean and the staff was super friendly and very sweet. We had a great time and we’ll be back for a longer stay next time.

The hotel was easy to find and is little out of the main area but there walkable are dining options nearby. Breakfast was buffet style but not particularly impressive but adequate, an option for fried or poached eggs would better. The room was fine but lacking along with many American hotels power points next to the bed. A good choice if you happen to be in Palm Springs.

My stay was close to perfect. This was my second time staying here. My only complaint is that sometime during my stay I found a cricket in the toilet bowl. I hate insects, esp. crickets. Don’t know how that got in there. Other than that, I’d stay here again.

With the construction going on, the property was *very* hard to identify from the street (front entrance on Indian Canyon, signage only on Palm Canyon). The "front desk" is set up in an airstream on a cute renovated deck. The staff was very friendly and accommodating of preferences (though, I didn't receive any information about wifi access upon check-in). It didn't apply to me, but I could see the limited check-in hours being problematic (i.e. - delayed flights/traffic). The lack of a deadbolt was a little disconcerting. Minimalistic mid-century styling and a comfortable bed, but a lack of counter space in the bathroom. Pretty basic breakfast offering (but, it was complimentary and had hot options). Fantastic pool access policy (will hold bags behind desk post-checkout/pre-checkin and allow you to enjoy the pool area). Walkable to uptown restaurants and shops.

The Skylark Hotel has a long way to go!
Unbeknownst to us, the hotel is undergoing “renovations”. They indicated it was Hotels.com responsibility to notify us which did not happen. All the same, everything ranging from the parking to breakfast was “incomplete“. Even with the renovations, the hotel is lacking in comfort. The shower is a small square and the vanity is a pedestal sink. The rooms are spacious, but has very few outlets and the air conditioning is a small unit off in the corner. Other places in the Hotel are landscaped nicely but strangely constructed. For example, the rain downspout empties onto the plywood-floored stairway that you must take to get to the second floor. We would not consider this hotel, even when renovations are complete, as a vacation option.

Don’t Worry Darling
It was a nice quiet and calming stay. While most hotels in PS inspire that quaint and peaceful vibe with wraparound rooms, the Skylark, though situated somewhat in the middle of things, somehow kept most outside noise at bay. Save for the remodeling being undertaken, it’s a cutesy little place.

The Skylark is currently under renovation, and I wish Expedia had made that clear. This mid-century motel will eventually be a really fun, eclectic place, but there's still quite a ways to go. Still, they got the important parts right: beds are super cozy, pool is open all hours, and the breakfast is top-notch. The staff is also awesome, particularly Sam, who went above and beyond to welcome us.
