Beautiful Pagosa Springs home with National Forest Access

Welcome to serenity in the tall pines. We are located in one of Colorado's most beautiful and idyllic towns. Our home is five minutes from a brewery and five steps away from pristine mountain trails and open space, or a ten minute drive to down town Pagosa Springs or 30 miles from world class skiing at Wolf Creek Ski Area.

This home is nestled amongst tall pines. Just a few steps out of the back gate and you enter Green Belt open space with trails for walking, hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing and horseback riding. The trail eventually takes you into the pristine San Juan National Forest with all of its beauty and abundant wildlife. This is an all season home where the roads are always plowed, which always makes for an easy 10 minute drive to town.

This home is large and very accommodating. There are over 3100 square feet with three bedrooms on the main level, two additional bedroom spaces and one shared bath on the upper level and a bunk room for the kids with four bunkbeds and a sleeper sofa. This home was designed with families and kids in mind. The bunkroom is a great hangout place for your kids. There is a 50" TV in the bunk room with a larger variety of movies that the kids can watch, or bring their favorites.

The beauty of the pines make for breathtaking views from the rear covered porch, master bedroom, living room and the kitchen. The home has a large living and dining area. The kitchen is large and open, with a second dining table and counter where your family and friends can pull up a seat and interact while you cook. The kitchen is stocked with all of the basics so that guests do not have to reinvent the wheel on their stay here. The formal dining table and the kitchen table combined comfortably seat fourteen.

We have wireless internet access that is available throughout the house.

But more than anything, you will enjoy and be awe struck with the fantastic views from every one of the many windows in the house and the immediate access to skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, golfing, and numerous other outdoor activities. A favorite activity is sitting on the decks admiring the beauty and watching the sunset and keeping an eye out for the many deer that cross the paths behind our home. You will find it extremely quiet and serene at my home.

After a long, wonderful day on the ski slopes, the hiking trails or the golf course, or just relaxing and leisurely walking around down town Pagosa Springs, enjoy a relaxing dip at the Hot Springs.

Fall in Pagosa

The house was perfect for our group of 10 adults. Excellent location for all trips to surrounding attractions. The Golden Aspens were amazing. House was stocked with everything we needed and all the beds were really comfortable. Dave went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.

Gem of a house

My family and I enjoyed this house immensely. Having rented houses through VRBO for several years, this house had the best equipped kitchen we have ever seen in a rental. The location, adjacent to the National Forest, had great views from the back porches. A short drive into Pagosa Springs with all there is to do in town, and close enough for day trips to Chimney Rock, Creede and Durango. Great Communication with the owner and the check in/check out instructions were comprehensive. Highly recommended. We will be back.

Relaxing Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely house! The owner was very attentive and responsive to any communication. The back porch was lovely to relax and watch the deer come through. The greenbelt and access to hiking trails was fantastic for my morning jogs! The kitchen was stocked with everything one could want to prepare anything. The driveway was very easy to get in and out of. We definitely recommend this house!

Four Corners Folk Fest

This makes the third year we’ve had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful home. This year, we were joined by our adult children, one 11 year old grandchild, and another couple. It is the perfect setting for the long weekend. We enjoyed relaxing at home, the folk music festival, hiking, running, and soaking in the Springs. Everything was perfect!

Best Mountain Stay in Pagosa!

The property is stunning and tucked away from noise. David provided such incredible hospitality and communication. The home is laid out in such a great way, providing for family time and connection as well as quiet bedrooms when it was time to retreat. It was the perfect getaway for our family. Perfect!

We loved our stay here! As the reviews say, the pictures don’t do it justice! Beautiful views all around and our group of 12, including 6 kids ranging in age from 5-14, were so comfortable! Plenty of room in the house, and the kitchen is well stocked to make any meal you please! We took advantage of the many trails right out the back door, and enjoyed peaceful evenings on the porch. It was just perfect!

Great place to stay in Pagosa

Our family of twelve (6 adults, and 6 kids ages 3 to 16) enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen is well-stocked. The beds are comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet. I could go on, but in short, we love this place! This was a second stay here for part of our group. Communication with the host is great. It was about a 40-minute drive for us to Wolf Creek ski area. We rented skis near the house, and appreciated the nearby grocery store and Walmart. We highly recommend this property.

Home away from home

We had a fantastic time at this beautiful home with our extended family and friends. We spent spring break up at Wolf Creek and this wonderful home made the stay so seamless with the fully stocked kitchen, including plenty of spices for cooking, plates and utensils for kids, cooking dinner here was so easy and made the stay so much more personal and comfortable than a hotel situation. Kids loved the bunk room and learning about DVDs. There’s even a pack & play, baby swing, and high chair (we didn’t need these, but a great point to highlight for families).Owner was very responsive anytime we reached out and super friendly. 5-star experience, we hope to be back!!

There were 11 of us. Never felt crowded. We were here to ski so after day on mountain it was perfect to cook food and socialize. Never heard a neighbor so great peace. The quietness is the biggest plus. The kitchen/living area and the 2 dining tables all together is super! Wish we could have had more time here. Would definitely stay here again.

Spring Break 2024

Took my extended family skiing. There were 12 of us ranging in age from 6 to 67. There was ample room in the house for everyone and sleeping arrangements worked well. My granddaughters left behind some stuffed animals and the host was gracious enough to mail them back to us. The house was well maintained and if everything works out we will try to stay there again next year.

Nice property for large group

Property was nice. Bunk room did have dirty sheets. We washed first night so our boys could use those bunks. TV remote did not work, so we had to go buy a roku so we could watch TV. Missed all the bowl games! Also, only one TV in the entire home. Other than that, everything was great. Loved being able to walk the trails behind the property.

Great place for families

This home was one of the best rentals at which we’ve ever stayed. It is well-managed, well-stocked, and a great layout for families. Our two families of six and five (with kids from 2 to 12) found the home just right. The big kids enjoyed the two adjoining bedrooms upstairs to be a nice space to themselves, while the younger kids enjoyed their own space in the bunk room downstairs. The other three bedrooms are on the main level with the living space and kitchen. This property owner has thought of everything - well-stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, games and movies, etc. He pays attention to details and has thought through what traveling guests could need/want. What a great stay! We hope to be back again.

Blissful!

I can’t say enough good things about our wonderful stay at Whispering Pines. The house is big perfect for our family group (12). Very clean, and welcomed with snacks on the counter. Plenty of space and beds and seating which makes perfect for a big family or group. Dave was very helpful with tips on road conditions and updates from recent storm. The neighborhood was quiet and in a great location. It’s about a 45 min drive to Wolf Creek which is where half our family spent the weekend while the rest of us enjoyed a warm fire and coffee. 10/10 would recommend Whispering Pines. We hope to come back in the future for our snowboarding trips. Thank you for having us Dave!!
