"A true gem. This is my new go-to place for the first (and second) night in Cape Town. Most international flights arrive in the early morning and commercial downtown hotels do not let you check in before 3 pm. Most of us are exhausted. So make your way to Franschhoek against traffic and stop at some wineries on the way. Then rest at La Fontaine. Many fine restaurants within 0.5 miles. Lovely breakfast and exceptional service."

"It was not pleasing due to the following; - Shower tab not good (water comes out as a drip of rain, with difficulties in balancing hot water and cold water. - Bath had no water stopper - There were splinters remains of used soap in the shower. - I was disgusted with the dirtiness of the Microwave inside as I wanted to warm the Pizza - No soap provided in the room even for washing hands in the sink - Television not playing "

"All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Room spacious and clean with a complimentary carafe of sherry. We ate a lovely breakfast outside. A cold selection available inside and a hot breakfast could be ordered. A short walk to the Fat Butcher restaurant and the Botancial Gardens."

"The hospitality at the Waterstone is top notch. We were greeted by Charmaine, who got us settled and made sure everything was taken care of on our arrival. The next morning we had breakfast out in the garden and pool area. Everything was fresh and delicious, in beautiful surroundings. Load shedding hit during breakfast hours, but Charmaine managed to keep the kitchen running and no one went without hot coffee or toast! Definitely a well run operation. "The lodge is situated amongs the wineyards and is really a pleasure to stay at. Rooms are great, bathrooms has everything you require and the bed is very comfartable. You even get a bottle of red wine when you enter your room complimentary from the owners."

"firstly communication was not clear because when I get the guesthouse the person who was assisting me told me that I'm supposed to be in Strand but the direction that I got was for Somerset. I was so confused but assisted me because there was a room that was free in that site. very thing is perfect very apartment is very nit and clean. "

"Lovely people, comfortable, outside hottub was fab, breakfasts made to order, really large bathroom. The only thing was the tech which doesn't work and needs to be ditched. It's a gimmick which doesn't add to the experience- not pleasant having music in the room going on in the middle of the night having had no explanation of what to do to stop it. All in all though very much to be recommended."
