The room was above expectations warm and spacious
The reception staff were welcoming friendly and knowledgeable.
For a hotel the bar was very reasonable and in the morning the breakfast which was included in the price was scrumptious and plentiful.
Great decor and perfectly placed for a good walk by the river .
Well-done Hawkswell house

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
The room wasn’t up to a good standard. But the breakfast made up for it, one of the breakfast staff was amazing and very helpful.
Would definitely go again for the breakfast wendy one of the breakfast staff, she was amazing. Would like to thank her for just being herself.
Thanks Josh
Lovely hotel, a little off the beaten track but short walk to bus stop into Oxford proper
Beautiful rooms
The restaurant is very good and the staff is very accommodating
A sudden downpour revealed a leak in the skylight, but staff were efficient and friendly in finding us a replacement room asap, plus a partial refund. Rooms were comfortable and well-equipped
Room was very clean. Decent size and bed comfortable.
Breakfast was plentiful and Wendy especially was so friendly and helpful. Made sure we had enough to eat.
The only downside was the coffee machine. Only 1 for everyone. Had to queue and then it ran out of water/ milk. Need at least 2 machines
10/10 Best hotel I've stayed in for work in a long time!
They've got everything right
Check in perfect, room perfect, bar/restaurant perfect, food was delicious
Easy free parking very close to Oxford centre

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Staff were exceptional, especially Malcolm on the front desk. We were a little underwhelmed by our premium price room (in the annex) however, especially as this was booked to celebrate our 20th Anniversary.
It didn ’t look like the room in the photos and was a little strangely laid out - all nice and clean however.
We ate in the on-site restaurant which was fab, breakfast was a buffet which was just OK and rather over-priced

Staff great, especially Wendy at breakfast......
We dined in 2 of the nights and the meals were lovely amd reasonably priced.
The hotel is looking a little tired in places now and our room was noisy with the aircon units outside the window R 215. Lack of constant staff presence at the bar to order drinks and food sometimes meant a wait. Or asking at reception.
Very well situated property with beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces. The Elm house with only 15 units was perfect for a cozy but well-amenitized stay. Warm decor and great staff.
I had a lovely stay. Rooms were nice, although my shower area as a bit of a squeeze, especially when you consider I'm not a tall person at all, but that was OK. Comfy beds, quiet area. Friendly staff. Nice walks to the river.
The hotel staff were professional and courteous. Our room was awesome--quiet, convenient to a direct bus into town (Rte 3 or 3A), good walking distance to pub (Prince of Wales). Food was also good.
The staff were all friendly and helpful. the hotel is well appointed and very clean. A great location only a short walk from the lovely Iffley village and lock on the Thames
A beautiful, serene and quiet respite, just a short distance from the center of Oxford’s heritage. So many to assist us in our stay, but Wendy made sure our breakfast was the perfect ending to a perfect stay! -Your Friends From Boston
Fantastic stay from start to finish, free parking on site which was great for us. Staff were friendly and helpful, only stayed for 2 nights but were given fresh towels on our second day which was amazing. Lovely walk along the river into the centre (note it does take 35-40 minutes).
