The best area to stay in Ourouer is within the village centre itself, particularly around the church and main square.

This central part of Ourouer offers a quiet and convenient base for exploring the local area. You'll find a few local amenities like a small boulangerie and a couple of traditional eateries within easy walking distance. The streets are generally narrow and winding, typical of a French village, and the village church often serves as a central landmark.

Couples looking for a relaxing retreat will find this area particularly appealing. It's a peaceful setting, great for enjoying slow mornings, leisurely walks, and experiencing authentic village life without the hustle and bustle of larger towns.

While Ourouer is a delightful destination year-round, the best time to visit is during the late spring to early autumn months, specifically from May to September.

During these months, the weather is generally warm and pleasant, making it ideal for exploring the local countryside and enjoying outdoor activities. Average temperatures range from 18°C to 25°C, with longer daylight hours, allowing for extended sightseeing and leisurely strolls.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will find May, June, and September particularly appealing. The vineyards are lush, and the harvest season in September offers a great experience with local festivals and wine-tasting events. The weather is comfortable for picnics by the canal or walks through the nearby forests.

For travellers planning a family holiday, July and August are excellent choices. The warmer temperatures are superb for enjoying the outdoor swimming pools, visiting local farms, and participating in the various family-friendly activities often organised in the surrounding villages.
