Each of Ottery’s central public houses sponsors a single barrel. Held on November 4th, the barrels are soaked with tar and are lit outside each of the pubs in turn and once the flames begin to pour out, they are hoisted up onto local people’s backs and shoulders.

"Such a lovely place to stay and so handy you can pre book a parking space by calling the hotel! (Bit pricey but at least it’s at the hotel!) Staff are very helpful and always polite!
