An oasis of calm in a lovely small historic city. Make sure you use the pool and garden and enjoy a glass of champagne during happy hour, outside if the sun is shining! Wonderful short stay!

I’ve never been in a hotel where all of the staff are consistently polite, friendly, helpful, happy and amazingly genuine ! There’s clearly an incredible ethos here of top class customer service. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms are amazing and the food was stunning.

Having been pushed repeatedly before arrival to use the online registration, it was clear why. We had to wait 5 minutes at an otherwise empty reception whilst the receptionist at check-in figured out how to use the new system. Overall the hotel felt tired and below the standards that I’d normally expect from this brand. The room was dark and poorly designed. Disappointing experience overall. Positives were that dinner was enjoyable and the wine excellent.

The hotel itself is an interesting and attractive building. The outdoor area at the back was very nice and peaceful with a beautiful white Wisteria. The staff at reception and the restaurant were very helpful, friendly and considerate. The location was convenient for us to explore the local area. We had a very lovely weekend

A really historic hotel in the heart of Exeter. Really friendly staff comfortable bed and quiet being on the third floor. Food was fantastic which we enjoyed as part of a 21st celebration in one of the function rooms.
