About this property

KONJAKUSO Osaka Tengachaya "NIHONCHA" Tea & Relax

  • In this area, once known as “Tenjin no Mori,” the tea ceremony began to flourish towards the end of the Muromachi period. It is said to have begun when the tea master Takeno Jōō, drawn by the quality of the spring water, built a tea room here. Later, when Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the Kampaku (Regent), visited a teahouse in this area, he praised the flavour of the tea, leading the place to be called “His Highness’s Teahouse,” which eventually evolved into “Tenka-chaya.”

Drawing inspiration from the history of Tenka Chaya, this facility was designed with the concept of a “relaxing space where you can enjoy Japanese tea.”
From the veranda overlooking the garden to the comfortable mat area and the enchanting bath, the design allows you to relax while soaking in the traditional Japanese atmosphere.

Please enjoy the modern “Tenka Chaya” to the fullest.

―A Soothing Getaway in Osaka’s Tenka-chaya, Nestled Among Traditional Streetscapes
We aimed to create a space where you can soothe the fatigue of travel and spend quiet moments taking deep breaths. The Tenka-chaya area retains the warmth characteristic of Osaka and its traditional streetscape, while also offering excellent access to Namba, Tennoji, and Shinsekai, as well as convenient transport to Kansai International Airport (KIX). Blending the charm of the local area with sophisticated interior design, our facility is an entire-house rental where you can enjoy both the beauty of traditional Japanese architecture and the comforts of city life all at once.

Whether you’re travelling with family, in a group, or even on a long-term stay, the garden views, the warmth of natural materials, and the soft lighting are sure to soothe your soul. Please relax and enjoy your stay in Tenka-chaya, Osaka, where history and modern culture harmonise.
