Top Okunikko Hotel Reviews

Fairfield by Marriott Tochigi Nikko
10/10 Excellent
"Fairfield is nestled in a tranquil and charming yet convenient location. We love the convenience and availability of free onsite parking. The staff were very helpful in providing dining recommendations and also helping us to register for Marriott membership. With 1 hour late check out, we were able to slow down and enjoy the morning with an amazing breakfast from a pop up truck. The common and well stocked dining area also facilitated social interaction and I got to know a few friends from Italy and New Zealand. My family really enjoyed our stay at Fairfield and of course this amazing place Nikko, full of surprises and awesome nature."

Nikko Station Hotel Classic

"Central location to everything, but is a bit tired and needs some renovation"

Kinugawa Onsen Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Our family enjoyed staying in the quiet countryside. The reservation includes a breakfast and dinner buffer, which was delicious. They also have complimentary drinks and snacks from 3 to 6pm. The hot springs felt relaxing as well. The hotel is isolated, and the nearest convenient store is a 10 minute walk away, but the trees and mountains really make you feel immersed in nature. Great reset from the hustle and bustle of city life."

Rakuten STAY VILLA Nikko

"The condo unit was clean and beautiful, including the bath with hot spring water and sauna! Highly recommended!"

Koduchi no Yado Tsurukamedaikichi
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent traditional Japanese ryokan hotel with great staff. Having a private onsen (some of the rooms only) overlooking the fast-flowing river was the cherry on top. The rooms are spacious and the in-house restaurant served excellently prepared and presented traditional Japanese food which was a great cultural experience."

Rakuten STAY VILLA Kinugawa Riverside

"Clean room. House cleaning done. Full provision of appliances. Love the onsen and vibe chair. Supermarket very close by. Rather big with everything you need. Good steak resturant and pudding shop within walking distance."

Hotel Sunshine Kinugawa

"My whole family and friends enjoyed our stay. Toilet needs a little improvement and needs more cleaning."

Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Kinugawa Kanko Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Sato san was very helpful and spoke good English. He explained to me everything clearly. I don't know why this is called a "premium" hotel as dining was limited to 90 minutes, but at the other hotel, which was not a premium, I did not have a time limit. Food was similar to the other non-premium hotels, except that their breakfast menu had slightly fewer variety. Their dinner and free refreshments include alcohol. What I loved about this ryokan is the onsen - they have different pools of onsen which was excellent. And the rooms are huge and newly renovated. I had a good view of the stream too. That was nice. What I did not like - the parking is not really on site. It is next to the hotel."

Nikko Kanaya Hotel
8/10 Good
"The hotel was build Meiji era so it has a unique character and a charm to it. However, it does not provide a modern convenience. It sets on the top of steep hill so you need to be prepared for some leg work if you don’t have a form of motor transportation."
