One of the best stays on our trip so far. Great staff, updated hotel rooms and amazing views. Easy to park your car and food was so good. Will definitely stay here again.

We didn’t know what to expect but were very happy with our stay at the Rex. It’s very clean, modern, great design and has an excellent indoor/outdoor onsen up on the top floor with an amazing ocean view. We loved that you had to take your shoes off at the entrance of the large and lovely lobby floor and go to our room in slippers. And there are also great public onsen nearby. Parking was included and there was a lot of parking spots very close to the entrance.

Beautiful onsen hotel, love it

Very clean hotel, quiet area, safe, excellent service, good breakfast with lots of choices, love the outdoor onsen , clean, able to enjoy ocean view, snow when I feel so nice and warm in the pressure onsen. Very close to beautiful, colorful onsen area, only 15 mins drive, lots of parking spot, very spacious , comfortable, ocean view room. Highly recommend

Was very nice place, clean n quite, big room, nice n peaceful view. everything u needed for a spring hotel. Don’t forget to go hot spring in the early morning to see the sun raise!

Amazing experience staying in Rex hotel with amazed sea view room with sunrise, very convenience that travelling by car because the hotel provides plenty of car park with free. The hotel staffs are very nice and welcoming as well as very clean rooms.

This property has a lovely 8th floor infinity pool public bath overlooking the bay. All rooms face the bay and had both a nice view and we're muiet - the ocean waves easily heard from your balcony which faced a public parks beach. Staff there was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had an excellent selection of both japanese and western dishes.

Rex Hotel is nicely locate along the coast with walking distance to downtown main shopping / restaurant area. Outdoor hot spring on roof top offer excellent view. Property is modern, clean & well maintained.

Room was great. Onsen was great. Front desk staff were not very friendly. My wife is Japanese and they were rude to both of us. Coming in at night after dinner no one says hello even though they are just sitting at the front desk. Nice room and comfortable bed. Shower was excellent too. Too bad the staff are not more friendly. It is a hotel after all....

Family vacation

Relaxing and resort-style. A very welcome reprieve from the hustle of the city. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. Our room has a wonderful view of the bay and the sunrise. The onsen on the top floor was thoughtfully well equipped to the needs. Food was good. Good location as supermarkets and restaurants are nearby. Very accessible to public transportation.

It was a little annoying how two guys at the entrance treated me but once my reservation was confirmed, everything went nice and smooth. My friend arrived a minute later and she had no trouble by just telling my name as reservation. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly amazing and we absolutely loved it. Awesome view from their infinity pool like onsen at the top floor made us want to return to this hotel again. Overall excellent stay.

Great view and clean and nice hotel in the middle of roadside shops. If you have a car, then ok. Great hot spring with views and modern room. We had triple beds room and there’s no chair or sofa, so had to stay on bed all the time. It’s shame that we couldn’t enjoy the room with views.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights, and the location is acceptable, but it is quite far away from the city center, Beppu train station and shopping arcades. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, the food were delicious and very fresh. Most notably, the views from our room and onsen on top floor was exceptional. We could enjoy the sunrise from the balcony of our room and Beppu Tower and seaside from the onsen. Unfortunately, they didn't arrange a high floor room for us even though we had requested in advance. Overall, this hotel provided great value for money.
