I have stayed here many times in the past. We often stay closer to Alcala if we are traveling with people who want to shop and do sight seeing activities every day. But for a relaxing, stress free time in Oaxaca there is nothing like being a little separated from the bustling downtown, elevated above the city with panoramic views, a great bar, restaurant, room and pool service, and easy parking.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The view from our room overlooking the city was incredible and definitely one of the highlights of our visit. The only inconvenience was that the bathtub drain did not work very well, so the water took a while to go down. Aside from that, everything was very good.

I think the Hotel Victoria is a grand older hotel that needs a facelift such as new carpeting. The staff are fantastic and the property has a beautiful pool and view. Their food could definitely be improved. Their room service food was better than the restaurant.

Had read some other lackluster reviews, but so glad we stayed at Hotel Victoria. We loved our double superior room with full windows and balcony. The grounds and pool area were well maintained, the room was spotless, the food in the restaurant was excellent, and all the staff were so friendly and attentive. A great way to start our month of travels in Oaxaca! Many thanks!

Clean areas all around. Polite staff and clean rooms. Parking was near the room, pool was cold for my own taste but that would depend on the time of the year you go, I went in January so it was to be expected. Traveling near the zocalo was very easy. There is no shops near by since the hotel is on a hillside so get your stuff before you get there. Overall I love the hotel and I would stay there again.

I loved my 5 night stay at the Hotel Victoria. Staff was lovely, responsive and helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily. The old world charm and the grounds were wonderful. The pool is big and beautiful and chilly at this time of year but swimmable on gorgeous grounds. The only reason that I don’t have more 5 star ratings is because the building is old and it’s so challenging in this climate to keep up a property of this size and to keep it affordable. I first had a room with an old moldy bathroom but I requested a room change and received it the same day with a cleaner bathroom. All of which I appreciate. Breakfast daily in the restaurant was a great way to start the day and to end the day at the the bar was great.

If I had qualified based on the treatment during check-in only, my first impression was very bad because they told me if I had booked directly instead of using the platform, we would have been able to give rate options. Later, during the stay the experience was excellent treatment in the restaurant, high quality fpod, spacious room and quiet atmosphere, it made us feel comfortable. The hotel has a convenient location, walk distance to Oaxsca center, and private bus transportation.
