Shunda Creek Place is a mountain home set into a forested area 5 minutes from Nordegg, Alberta. The amazing location is private, located at the base of Coliseum Mountain. This 5 star VBRO home is ideally suited to multi-generational families, or an excellent setting for friends or business people needing a retreat from busy lives.
The four bedroom home is well appointed with 2 luxurious bathrooms and a 2-piece off the kitchen. The gourmet kitchen is equipped with a Bosch gas countertop, top of the line oven and refrigerator and dishwasher. Decks facing all directions let you take in the sun or shade - all with comfortable lawn furniture. After you've been hiking all day - you can relax around the fire pit. There is nothing this home lacks for you to wind down with family or friends.
Some of Alberta’s best hiking and sledding trails are found in Nordegg, from novice to experienced. The best trails in the area lead out of the property and go for miles (make sure to pack lunch!).
Is fishing your passion? Trout, bass, perch and pike are found in the surrounding rivers, ponds and lakes. Do you like mountain biking? There are great trails in and around the property.
Amateur and professional photographers list Nordegg as a top spot to capture wildlife. All of these opportunities are found a quick walk off the back deck!

Nordegg Mountain Stay
This VRBO was the perfect place for a home base while exploring the beautiful Canadian Rockies. The property was exactly what was described. The check in process was easy. The hone was so spacious and clean and plenty of room to enjoy! I highly suggest booking this place if you're looking for a spot near Abraham Lake and the Icefields. Can't wait to visit again!

A beautiful house with a lovely, well equipped kitchen, surrounded by towering trees. Various decks to enjoy the outdoors. House stayed cool even without A/C. Note that there are no main floor bedrooms, they are either upstairs (2) or down in the walkout basement (2). The house worked beautifully for myself and my 3 kids annual getaway (7 of us). We enjoyed the Miner's Cafe pie, and hiking to area waterfalls.

Great dual family getaway
Was a great place to stay for the 8 of us. 4 adults, and 4 teen boys and everyone had space to hang, or do their own things. As a group we love to hike, swim, cook & mix up fun mocktails and the house worked great for all of these things!

The house was beautiful...nestled in among the trees....a very relaxing and calming getaway. The kids went sledding and on a nightime excursion to Abraham Lake. We all enjoyed the New Years celebration in Nordegg

Well Stocked Comfortable Home
We had a group of 7 stay for a long weekend at this property. Communication with our host was great prior to our stay & check-in was seamless. The property is comfy, spacious & a short walk away from Coliseum Mountain Trail. There is only one tv, which offers streaming services, in the main living space, so if you have a family or group who likes watching different shows/sports, you’ll want to make sure you bring an extra screen/device. Also, if you don’t regularly use streaming services, you’ll want to find out what you need (and possibly get accounts) so you’re ready! We used the TSN app for football and CBC Gem for hockey. Some of the ladies found the house a little bit cold. We were able to use the wood burning fireplace (so cozy with a great cash of wood), which warmed up the main space quickly, but you’ll want to pack a sweater and some slippers if you tend to run cold. There’s a hot tub on the back deck, but it wasn’t available at time of booking, so be sure to confirm whether it is available to guests or not if you’re looking for that. This is a beautiful, well maintained home with a well stocked kitchen and lots of little extras that came in super handy. We had a great stay and will definitely consider this home for the future!

Beautiful property with privacy and loads of pathways and trails to explore. Nordegg and sounds lake just minutes away. Great place to stay with two families and bedrooms and bathrooms are laid out down and upstairs for everyone to have their own space. Property was immaculate with everything we needed.

First time staying at a Vrbo
I am very pleased with the location and house I chose to have our wedding ceremony with immediate family attending. It was exactly what I was looking for location wise to have the ceremony outside. Lots of parking for guests. All the large covered decks were great to have when we were concerned about having a place to take cover if it rained since we planned ceremony and lunch outside. The yard was beautiful for our ceremony set up with our added touches. Beautiful spot in the trees we took our family photos there. The house is beautiful, lots of room and bedrooms, a cold room to store the flowers and food platters was very handy. The house was very clean and a lovely place to relax. The one thing for other future renters to know to bring your own fire wood or chainsaw and axe. We thought we were coming to a place that had it all pre cut and ready to enjoy an outside fire but there were only huge, uncut tree logs and we were not prepared to have to chop firewood. All in all we all enjoyed our time and stay, owner was very accommodating.

We had a fantastic stay at this property. Our expectations were fulfilled, it fits nine people very comfortably. We had one small issue that we needed to contact the property manager over and she replied immediately. Would absolutely recommend this property.

Stunning and clean, excellent location
Donna's place is beautiful. The pictures don't do it justice. There is every amenity you could want, and it was well stocked. The yard and patios are beautiful, lots of room for activities! We loved having access to the trails right next to the house. This was my first time in Nordegg and first time using VRBO and I was definitely not disappointed. Would stay here again for sure . Overall this property is lovely! The house is very well kept and has everything you would need to have a beautiful stay. The owner is very responsive and helpful. The only thing that I would mention is that depending on how much the hot tub gets used in a month the property manager might want to consider an extra cleaning in the month.

Donna was very quick to reply and pleasant to deal with. The house was bright amd cheerful and would be great for a summer (our visit) or winter stay. Located in a quiet area with beautiful trees, we enjoyed lots of fun on the property including a large fire pit, hot tub, pool table, yard games, bike rides, and bird watching. Would recommend this property for a nice family get together.

Wonderful experience!
A beautiful and clean property with a lot of amenities. Our big group ranged from 1 yr old to 65 years old and there was something for all of us to enjoy our stay there. This was our first staycation with our one year old and we were pretty nervous about it. But it went smoothly, thanks to this well equipped (from high chair to diaper bags) property, and the little one surely enjoyed crawling and playing in the big open space.

Great getaway
We had a great time at Shunda Creek Place. There was plenty of room for 3 families to be very comfortable all weekend. The kitchen was well stocked for big communal meals and the outdoor space was incredible. We enjoyed playing with the outdoor toys supplied, had a wonderful fire and lots of tables for board game fun. Donna was very accommodating and communication was very easy from then on. Would recommend.

Amazing mountain escape
The size and space of the property is the first thing that grabs your attention….so many outdoor spaces to enjoy! The house has a beautiful layout and is stocked with anything you might need. Donna was immediately available when we had a minor issue with the dishwasher and the problem was fixed right away. We enjoyed this trip with our 3 small children along with another couple and their kids….would definitely come back!
