The hotel is under going renovation but they have built a nice enough temporary restaurant bar area. Some of the bar staff were excellent, but reception staff and morning breakfast staff were sub-standard.
The breakfast items were not all out at the time I took breakfast (7pm when it had been open since 6.30am), with the fruit only appearing later. In the room, my safe didn't work and after reporting it on four separate occasions, it remained broken and I gave up asking. One morning there was no water at all in the hotel which meant no running water, no flushing of toilets (after the first flush had emptied the cistern, no coffee at breakfast. This was probably due to the renovation and these things happen. However it is the way the hotel deals with these unfortunate occurences which matters and this was not handled particularly well. I do sympathise with the front line reception staff, but the management of other hotels would have ensured a communication e.g. note under the doors apologising for the inconvenience and offering some form of compensation. This hotel remained silent.
This is the second time I have stayed here on business and after this experience it will be the last. They let themselves down and they will lose custom because of it.
