Incredible stay in medieval city
Tourettes sur Loup is pleasantly distanced from the business of the Riviera but with a beautiful view that towers over it all. The streets of the village are impossibly cute and fun to explore. There are shops for any last minute needs though we mostly did our groceries “down the mountain”. There is lots of room and Isy and Les were very responsive to questions and concerns.

A phenomenal place to stay!
We're a family of 5 who stayed for 3 nights in March. This place exceeded our expectations and was a highlight of our 2-week trip to France! Communication was clear, quick, and friendly. The place was well appointed, extremely spacious, and the views were absolutely breathtaking. We loved the beauty and the richness of the history of the house. The village was lovely, pedestrian friendly with a good boulangerie and a selection of restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return!

Magnificent view!
This village house is so beautiful and has so much character. Plenty of room for multiple families. It was well equipped, and the location was great. We took several walks/hikes from the house while we were there. Beautiful village with all amenities (including 2 boulangeries). But, the best part was the breath taking views from the terrace. There is a waterfall not far, and we slept to the sound of the waterfall at night. Beautiful place. Would highly recommend.

Spectacular apartment!
The three level apartment is on the edge of this quaint medieval village, and we look out onto the French Riviera and the Mediterraen from this hilltop village. The apartment is clean, with modern amenities, beds comfortable, views to die for, down a cobblestone street not too far from the village marketplace. Really special location, very romantic. Only note that they charge a 120 euro cleaning charge separate from what Vrbo charges.

Never wanted to leave such a charming place
This beautiful home with amazing views more than suited our family of six. We wish we had just one day to stay in town and relax in the house. The art, decor, and furnishings enhanced our experience. Tourettes itself is a picturesque town with lovely people, a great pizzeria, ice cream, restaurants, and small shops. Reserve ahead for dinner or head down to Vence. Located close to Vence or Saint Paul de Vence. This was a perfect getaway. We highly recommend this home in Tourettes and would love to return in the future.

Magical!
Staying in Marie's lovely home was an absolutely wonderful experience that we'll never forget. It was a privilege, we loved it. Tourrettes-sur-Loup is every bit as magical as it appears. The views from the property are even better than they seem from the photos in the listing. The kitchen is freshly updated and very well equipped. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable. The wifi works with no problems. Everything was spotlessly clean. Making arrangements with Isabelle the property manager to get the key was very smooth, and Isabelle couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. We stayed for ten days and were extremely comfortable, and only sorry we couldn't stay longer.

Beautiful ocean view
Wonderful to be on the end of the complex on the ground floor. Very private. Ocean is so close, sunsets amazing! Wonderful to hear the surf. Pool and hot tub very nice and fun atmosphere. Also lots of lawn chairs sprinkled around on beachfront to sit and enjoy the view. Unit has nice tile floors throughout. Unit is well loved, sofa worn and saggy. Bed is very comfortable though! TVs are not smart TVs, so no streaming option. If have a laptop, just bring an HDMI cable to stream. Could use more kitchen items and new beach chairs.

An incredible property!
This is one of the most amazing places we have stayed - I could have happily stayed longer. The photos don’t do it justice! Each room is unique with comfortable furniture, beautiful artwork and different items of interest. We took food from Nice, cooked in the very well equipped kitchen, and ate it on the balcony with extraordinary views down to the coast. One of the many nice touches of the house is the well stocked pantry with all the herbs we needed. We stocked up on fresh food at the Wednesday market and enjoyed bread and cakes from both bakeries. (There are also numerous cafes and bars.) The old village is beautiful with lots of small shops selling the crafts of local makers. Lovely waking. Very restful. Thank you for sharing this special place with us! Note there is a cleaning fee payable on arrival. We missed this in the policies when we booked and were only aware of this after we settled in. Ideally this would have been confirmed when we first booked.

Magical village home in medieval Tourrettes-sur-Loup
What a place, really, we are absolutely in love. Home is exactly as described, was very clean upon our arrival, additionally our contact for the home was super easy to contact and very pleasant. The rooms feel open and spacious and the sizeable windows on every floor demand you stop and enjoy the view. Bedrooms had plenty of storage for our week's worth of clothing, large bathrooms with tubs and one bathroom with a stand up shower. Kitchen was roomy, good sized refrigerator and freezer, large sink and enough pots/pans and cooking utensils to get the job done for the two dinners we cooked. Also, large dining room table that could probably accommodate up to 8 people, ample flatware and silverware. Oh, and the rooftop terrace, prepare to spend a lot of time up there enjoying the views over morning coffee, afternoon snacks and evening apperitives. Aesthetically, the interior of the home is just stunning with it's medieval vibe but somehow there's a sturdy, modern and refreshed quality, which makes everything all the more impressive. As expected, this medieval vibe means uneven stairs and small steps up or down in unexpected places, I would say this shouldn't scare anyone but those with significant mobility issues. The village itself provides almost every necessity, including multiple restaurants, two bakeries, a butcher (whose hours were a bit difficult to figure out) and a tabac that offered some essentials of you didn't want to take the 6/7 minute drive to the Carrefour grocery store. Walking the village and interacting with all the shop owners was a daily occurrence for us, just something about striking along those medieval walkways that we couldn't get enough of. The overnight parking was an easy 5/10 minute walk with views of the village along the way, not an inconvenience in the least. When we find our way back to Europe there is no question that another week (at minimum) in this home will be part of the itinerary. For reference, this family (parents, 8 and 12 year old daughters) trip includes stops in London, the Italian Riviera, Lake Como, Strasbourg and Paris, Tourrettes-sur-Loup was by far the most difficult to leave.

Remarkable Property, Stunning Views, Magnificent Location
We had an amazing time visiting the Maison Linton in Tourrettes Sur Loup. The house, we found out, is actually 2 of the historic homes combined into one grand multi-story villa. The historical significance of the house aside, the artwork and the historical artifacts in the house were incredibly interresting. Everything in the listing was spot-on. The house was old, but modern. Is that possible? Yes! The management and cleaning were very responsive and we could not say more about the folks in the village that were very nice to us as tourists from USA. I highly, highly, recommend this maison for your visit. Even the ride to it is worth it!

We made a joyous return after 2 years to this lovely, welcoming property. The house is full of history, infused with the spirit of art and views to remember for a lifetime. This special place was even better upon return. On this visit we made time for Vence and Antibes, and highly recommend a leisurely visit to both! Great experience in beautiful village
The house was very comfortable and was a nice mix of old and new. Both the house and the village are hundreds of years old and have a lot of character. There is an awesome view from the house across rolling hills and down to the sea. Besides the picturesque village, the location has easy access to other beautiful sites in the South of France. The owner charged us a fee for cleaning and for linens -- this should have been in the upfront charge and more clearly disclosed. The walk between the parking area and the house is very steep, which was not made clear in the description and which was a challenge for my 80 year-old mother-in-law.

Wonderful stay at Maison Linton
We were two couples staying 10 days in early November 2019 at the "Maison Linton" and enjoyed the house very much. The property owners, Jack and Mathilde, were quick in their email responses, and the property manager, Marie, who is Danish and speaks fluent English, was always available for questions. She met us when we arrived and gave us a thorough tour of the house with specific instructions for the convection oven, the washing machine, the TV etc... She also gave us recommendations for restaurants in town. The house itself is some 500 years old and is full of character and charm. That being said, the staircases are narrow and steep and would not be ideal for people with mobility issues. The tallest among us was 6'4" and had no problems with ceilings and beams. We especially enjoyed sitting on the terrace overlooking the gorge and the views to the sea in the distance. There are spectacular views from every room as well. When you come in, you have the main living room, kitchen and dining room, and you go upstairs or downstairs for the bedrooms and bathrooms, all of which are very spacious and cozy. We used Tourrettes as a base for exploring the region: Gourdon, St. Paul de Vence, Eze, Nice, Monaco, Villefranche/Cap Ferrat, Vence, Entrevaux, Gorges du Verdon, and Antibes. We parked in the main parking lot (free) just at the entrance to the town and walked to the house from there--about 15-20 minutes. The weather was amazingly clear and sunny for that time of year, and we took advantage of the many hiking trails that surround Tourrettes as well. Although quite a few restaurants in town were closed because we were there off-season, there were still many places to enjoy, and with no crowds! One small note, and this may be due to the fact that we were probably one of the last guests before the house was closed down for the season: there was no supply of paper towels or toilet paper, and many of the light bulbs for the lamps were burned out and needed to be replaced. But again, this was probably due to the fact that we were there very late in the tourists season, and these were minor inconveniences. In summary, I give this place five stars! It has everything you could possibly want: charm, convenience, modern comforts, beautiful surroundings and ideal hosts. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Beautiful and historic
We loved this property in Tourrettes sur Loup. Tourrettes is an ideal location in the hills above Nice - a small, authentic village which came to feel like home during the two weeks of our stay. After a few hours in nearby Saint-Paul de Vence, which was overrun with tourists, we felt lucky to return to peaceful Tourrettes with its cobbled pedestrian lanes, artists’ workshops and cozy cafes. The Linton house is lovely with timbered beams, incredible views and unique original art by family patriarch Victor Linton and his wife. Victor was an important influence in Tourrettes and we enjoyed reading about Victor and seeing some of his work in the local violet museum. We also searched for and found the Linton family plot in the local cemetery. Many thanks to Jack and Mathilda for keeping this unique home, which is built right into the city walls, available for rent.

What a find! Stunning position, magnificent views, genuine character and excellent plumbing! It’s a hazard if you are tall or have a disability but the many levels and floors offer a real opportunity to live a little in the past. Tourette sur Loup is a lovely village too. Unforgettable. We will make sure to come back.
Difficult to truly the describe the joy we felt staying in this three storey cliff-side house in the beautiful medieval village of Tourrettes-sur-Loup. The view from the windows is truly breathtaking - overlooking a deep valley and guiding your gaze all the way to the Mediterranean Sea - and the town is charming. There is free parking right outside the old town, an 8 minute walk, and you can easily walk to any of the alluring shops, grocers, boucherie, boulangerie etc ... in town. The pace is relaxed , the people friendly and the restaurants are lovely. Although the house is about 450 year old and has kept a fair bit of its medieval looks, it features a kitchen with a convection stove-top and a great oven. No bathrooms on the main floor, but nice ones upstairs and downstairs, adjoining the rooms. We were there before the heat wave, which was great as there is no air conditioning (which would be quite difficult to install IMHO) but the breeze from any and all of the windows was heavenly! Having drinks on the terrace while watching the swallows hunt right in front of our noses is a memory I am not likely to forget. We left as the heat wave started; my feeling is that it would have been very hot in there at that time, so there are probably some favoured travel times for this place, but this is a personal judgement. The one real caveat is that even they have plenty of room for families (smaller beds for children, etc ...) the terrace, which is cliff-side, has a very low stone wall so that the view can be enjoyed while sitting down. This, in my view, makes the terrace (which can be closed of course) less safe for younger children, especially on a spot where there are two or three steps from one level of the terrace to the other, and where the protective wall is less than two foot high. I doubt anything has ever happened there in 450 years, but I do feel it should be mentioned. Building that banister higher would truly kill the concept of that terrace, so I can understand why it is the way it is. Nevertheless, I recommend this place very, very highly. We left with a heavy heart as there is something quite magical about it. We sincerely wish to come back one day.

Very clean, spacious with awesome views
This property is impressive in all aspects. It sits within a medieval village that sits high on a rocky outcropping with panoramic views of the Mediterranean. To access it you walk through narrow winding roads lined with 2-4 story stone houses with quaint little craftsman shops and restaurants intermixed. The property itself is very large and clean with a nice kitchen. From the patio/balcony you have panoramic views of the Mediterranean. Awesome place to visit.

The character of the medieval stone structure has been retained but modernized for a joyous visit.
Forty-five years ago we stayed in Tourrettes and were overjoyed with our stay here. The spacious residence is located along the village's outer east wall. We watched the sun rise in the mornings from the terraces. The house comfortably accommodates 3 couples. The kitchen is well suited to cooking although with so much good food in Tourrettes and nearby we didn't find that necessary. Each night we walked through the quiet, stone-paved, pedestrian streets back to the comfort of the house. We hope to return again.

A beautiful property! The pictures do not do it - or the view - justice.
This house was perfect for our group; everyone had their own area and bathroom. The house is very well equipped with good appliances but they have kept the charming historic character of the house with lovely art and antique furnishings. We felt like we were living in another time. The free parking just outside the village was very convenient and we were always able to find a spot. The view from the house is amazing. There was always a nice breeze blowing and we spent a good bit of time on the upper terrace. This house and this village are a definite repeat for our next trip!

Absolutely beautiful house, stunning location
Our trip to Tourrettes-sur-Loup, a lovely medieval village, was a special one because our university-age children were able to share our adventure. We were truly amazed at the beautiful and historic house, the fantastic location and the stunning view. Nice, the Mediterranean and the foothills of the Alps could all be taken in from the third floor terrace. The decor is artsy, quirky and comfortable. There is a historic aspect to the art. A family member of the owner lived in Tourrettes-sur-Loup in the mid-20th century and some of his art hangs on the walls. The house is well-equipped with anything needed for an extended stay: kitchen appliances, clothes washer, cooking utensils, dishes, even beach umbrellas and tourist information. The house is in a fantastic location. Tourrettes-sur-Loup is an authentic medieval village with several wonderful restaurants, a couple of bakeries and a couple of small grocers. There are lots of boutiques and artists' workshops as well. Hiking trails go through the village to high pastures and river valleys. Tourrettes-sur-Loup is known for its violet harvest and evidence of that tradition is every where. The village is also centrally located to explore the region. Nice, Cannes, Monaco, the Gorges du Verdon, and the Alps are all day trips. This house is the perfect spot for the trip of a lifetime, and the hosts were absolutely wonderful.

Beautiful, ancient space in car-free village
Such a beautiful space with an aura of ancient history about it. We loved that it was in a mellow corner of the Cote d'Azur, and that cars cannot drive through the village. Oh, and the terrace is flat-out amazing!

Character, comfort and steeped in history....
Surrounded by the art work of Victor Linton, in a medieval structure adapted to contemporary life, you feel the presence of the Linton family in every intricate detail. Once the artist's home and still in the family, it is on a quaint and quiet, cobbled walking street in Tourrettes. The windows and large balcony overlook the countryside below with views of the mountains and the sea. Sunrise streams through each morning. All the essentials of living are provided in a modern kitchen with new appliances. Wifi and television...lovely baths with choice of shower or tub. Comfortable beds. Parking within walking distance. Small markets for basics, An incredible place to spend a relaxing vacation!

Beautiful House in a Beautiful, Medieval Village!
We stayed at the Linton House in the old part of Tourrettes sur Loup for 4 nights in advance of a cycling race we were competing in between Nice and Geneva. I would DEFINITELY stay here again - fell in love with both the place and the village (not my first visit to the area either)!! The house itself is deceiving from the outside; being large and extremely well appointed inside. With 3 private bedrooms, full kitchen, living room and dining area plus a sitting room and a couple of balconies / decks with brilliant views of Nice and the Med, you couldn't really ask for more! The house itself is built into the walled village ramparts so with thick stone walls the house stays cool even when very hot outside. Close to coffee shops and restaurants as well as the unique shops of the old village and just a few kilometres distant from a more major center with a grocery market in Vence, everything you need is close at hand. The property managers, in our case Marie and Daniel, were extremely helpful in all respects - from arranging pickup and transport for us and our bicycles from Nice Airport to the house, to assisting is extremely quickly on a weekend day when we inadvertently locked ourselves out! A definite "stay again"!!!

A Dream
This home is perfect! When we first arrived, our jaws dropped as we marveled at the beauty of the house and the stunning views over the landscape. Each day of our stay, we enjoyed the beautiful terrace, the lovely dining room, the well-equipped bathrooms and kitchen, and the overall charm of this old home. It was well-maintained, and communication with the property's manager, who was in the area, was easy. We loved spending time in the picturesque village, strolling through the old streets and exploring the little shops and restaurants that were a short walk from our front door. We'd love to return and will recommend it to others!

Fantastic week in Provence!
We had a great stay at Maison Linton, and found out that it is an important historical landmark in Tourrettes sur Loup as well. The views were incredible, the balcony superb, and the beds were comfortable. 4 of us stayed but it could easily accommodate 6 or 8. Fantastic to be able to wake up and stroll 100 yards to amazing croissants.

Great house with brilliant view over the gorge
Great house in the small ancient part of Tourrette-sur-Loup with enough space for up to 7 adults. We loved to sit on the roofed terrace with its view over the gorge, the hills and all the way to the sea! Supermarket, restaurants and bakery are all nearby. Nice, Cannes, Grasse can easily be reached by car, the nearby Foundation Maeght is a great place for people interested in art and the hills are great for hiking. We had a really great time and a wonderful holiday!
