The room itself was beautifully presented, blending historic charm with modern comfort. The bed was incredibly comfortable — the kind that makes it very hard to get up in the morning — and ensured a perfect night’s sleep after a long day. One standout detail was the shower: powerful, hot, and exactly what you want to relax and recharge. It’s a small thing, but it made a big difference. Overall, Lumley Castle delivers a unique and memorable experience. The combination of character, comfort, and outstanding service makes it a place I would happily return to and highly recommend, to the point we have booked to stay longer next year."

"Breakfast was a mix of fried, fruit & cereal!! Each room had its own designated parking bay!! Rooms were basic but clean!! Enjoyed our stay!! Not sure it's worth the money we paid for 1 night!! Stayed in nicer for less!! Maybe it's because I booked 2 nights elswhere previously?? "

"Great hotel, nice clean room, a bit on the small side but more than adequate for a 1 night stay. Breakfast was quite nice with a decent selection of food. Staff were pleasant although I did have to ask twice for a receipt for a coffee I bought from the bar. The server inadvertently put the receipt in the till and went on to serve someone else."

"Very attractive grounds and hotel facade. Internal amenities were reasonable. But restaurant was dire....both dinner and evening meal, disappointing after / before long drive. It photographed well on the website but I should have taken the time to look at the menu...clue would have been there."
