"The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Daily breakfast was a lovely touch and we enjoyed it on the roof deck, as well as the sangria or cucumber water in the afternoons. The location is perfect for those wanting to explore both the tourist areas and the more quiet local spots. The room was lovely, very clean and well maintained. Bedding was comfortable and the seating area was very cute. We loved this place and will certainly go back!"
"It’s one of the best properties for its location and price in Newport. We highly recommend this property and look forward to staying there again when in Newport."
"Very nice hotel in the heart of Newport. Room was clean and perfect for our needs. Very nice breakfast in the am. Unfortunately, in the room next door, dogs were left alone in the room and barked continuously from 9pm until 1am when I heard the owner return home. After an hour of continuous barking, I attempted to reach out to the front desk to see if anything could be done with no response. This is really more an issue with the owner of the dogs, but still very frustrating."
"Poor service and waited an hour after standard check in at 4 pm for our room to be ready. After entering the room, which should have been clean, we found something quite disgusting on the bed so if the sheets were changed this item would not have been there. The room was obviously not cleaned. We ended up not staying at the Viking and checked into another hotel and had a great experience.
The Viking was very disappointing after the so called “renovation”. We will not be visiting the Viking again."
"Hotel was beautiful! Location was prime. Weather was pouring rain for our stay so not great. Meredith the Concierge worked wonders getting us a reservation to our top pick for restaurants 22 Bowen. It did not disappoint! We used the hotel’s large gym before an amazing dinner. Free WiFi required a bonvoy membership (which is free) but slightly annoying."
