"We felt that the owners were not enthusiastic hosts. We were not shown half the facilities shown on the website, jut our room and the breakfast room. The breakfasts were average to poor (a dreadful poached egg ruined the smoked salmon it was served with). The TV in our room did not work, the picture was pixellated on all channels.."

"Stayed two nights for a long weekend, perched on the edge of Highclere Castle for our visit. Quite close to the A34, but even though our room was on that side we had no traffic noise. Nice little room upstairs in the cottage next door. Breakfast was included and that was excellent. Also had two evening meals, sample photos attached. Chef is very talented. Would happily return."

"Arrived at 2am from Gatwick, which was expected. The hotel was extremely quiet and we slept well. Unfortunately the night porter had told us that breakfast would be available until 10.30am, which is the case at the weekend but not on weekdays. When we arrived for breakfast at 10am the staff could not have been more helpful and offered to cook us fresh bacon rolls. "

"Have stayed here before and it was excellent, stay, food very good. Very different now quite stark due to Covid 19 restrictions and no restaurant working. Breakfast in a paper bag outside your door with rather sad contents. Little ambience sadly."
