I have a student at the University of Delaware. Newark is a great college town and has quite a few things to keep visiting parents entertained as well. This particular hotel is near the sports arenas about a mile from the downtown edge of campus.

I didn't explore much but it appears, anything you'd need is in the area ( shopping, healthcare, dining, gas, entertainment).

Newark/Christiana area is a great area. The area around the hotel is kind of sketchy.
