The best area to stay in Newark, Maryland, is the coastal stretch of Ocean City, particularly around the downtown and boardwalk area.

Ocean City is the main draw for visitors to the Newark area, offering a classic seaside holiday experience. The iconic Ocean City Boardwalk runs for three kilometres, lined with amusement park rides, arcades, shops, and places to eat. This stretch is particularly well-suited for families, as there's always something to keep children entertained, from building sandcastles on the expansive beach to enjoying miniature golf and water parks nearby.

Couples looking for a more relaxed but still convenient stay might prefer the northern end of Ocean City, typically above 90th Street. This area tends to be quieter, with more upscale accommodation options and direct beach access. It's still within easy reach of the boardwalk via public transport or a short drive, offering a good balance of activity and relaxation.

For those prioritising convenient access to Route 50 for day trips to Assateague Island National Seashore or other nearby attractions, hotels just off the main highways leading into Ocean City can be a practical choice.
