TWA Hotel at JFK Airport
10/10 Excellent
"Stayed overnight in ADA room, 2 adults. Room was well appointed, green focused (trash + recyclables). ADA rooms located at far end of floor, so leave time to get around. Check-in was quick, painless, and friendly. Rooms use Angel Soft brand of facial tissue and toilet paper. Nice! We were in the unit across the main flight facility so our view was of the Paris Cafe. We had dinner there (a beef tenderloin and steamed bass) and both were tasty. Cocktails average but the ambiance was fun. Highlight was the pool and gym. Warm and relaxing. Great fun watching the flights take off. Gym is old school cable machines keeping with the 60’s vibe. Well appointed locker rooms and amenities (toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash). Took time to walk through the property. The TWA shop has some great gift items. Loved the display of TWA uniforms. It really was a heyday of flight fashion with designers like Balmain, Valentino, Greer, and so many others who elevated the look of flight attendants and pilots for decades. Our goal was to be closest to JFK and not hassle with traffic on a Monday morning. Success! We had a smooth transition getting to our flight with a nice buffer of time. We did stay during a slower period (after college fall break and before Halloween) so hotel was peaceful and not overly crowded. Overall, highly recommend if you want peace of mind. It’s worth the extra $$ to not stress and have a moment of retro peace."

Hotel Edison Times Square
8/10 Good
"The hotel was in an excellent location. Unfortunately, the bathroom is small, we were right next to the elevator and therefore there was constant noise throughout the night that kept my wife up. We thought that construction was being done but the clerk at the front desk mentioned the elevators. These rooms should NOT be given to the guest. They offered to change our room but since we were settled and only there for one additional night we left it. Staff was excellent. Food was ok."

PUBLIC, an Ian Schrager hotel

"If you love Lower Manhattan, this is a great place to stay. Located off Houston, just a few blocks from Chinatown, this is a vibrant, bustling, diverse area--with great restaurants and cafes, a short walk from Washington Square, The Village, and Trade Center, and the Brooklyn Bridge. Of course, just a few minutes from a few subway lines. The double was very tastefully designed with economy of space in mind, and we had a great view. Everything was very well maintained and the staff excellent--oh, and the rooftop bar has to be seen--amazing views to the North and the South. Breakfast had nice options, and it was tasty, but the local coffee shops were, imo, better. It's a very trendy hotel, but peaceful on the upper floors."
