"We loved staying at Zoe and Nigel's house in Maro. The house is a gem, clean with a well supplied kitchen. Maro is cute, quiet village close to Nerja, Frigiliana and other sights. Highly recommend taking the drive east down the coast road (340) to Salobreña. Rivals Big Sur and Hwy 1 in many places. We had a great visit and time."

"28 days of relaxation, villa is in a quiet area & fairly private in the garden. Didn’t use the communal pool, it looked clean, preferred to go to the local beaches and used the chairs and umbrellas plus the cool boxes that were at the villa. Ideal situation for the Tuesday farmers market & Sunday flea market. 20mins walk to the Balcon but longer back as it’s all uphill, good excuse to sample the local bars en route. Owner was very quick to respond to my questions before we went."

"All of the staff at the Villa Flamenca were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great! We like walking, and everything was close enough to walk to, including the beach, shopping, and restaurants. We also had a meal at the hotel restaurant and it was great. They offer a good happy hour and we liked the nachos. We got the basic room and it was small, but that’s common in Spain so we are used to that. It was clean, which is what we care about most. "Highlight of our trip. Incredible location, great staff, amazing breakfast, and facilities. Wonderful sea view room with deck overlooking the beach. Lots of places to walk. Hotel staff made up two twin beds as one larger bed, which worked well. The overall atmosphere was impressive and relaxing. Everyone was so friendly. We would certainly stay again. We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Balcon de Europa."

At 2am on our first night, we realised we'd been placed on the side of the hotel where there is a dog that barks constantly.
