We stayed two nights and it was perfect location for our full day hike if the alpine crossing. Nice to have the use of wash and dryer and walking distance to restaurants. Thank You! Erik
This is a nice, comfortable place to stay. Very close to Whakapapa Ski Field, there are restaurants and a gas station close by. Our family also did a day trip to Ohakune and Waiouru, which is a short drive from this place. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, and bedsheets and blankets are provided (although the booking confirmation mentioned we need to bring our own). Overall a pleasant stay. Thank you!

The chalet was the perfect stay for us to explore Tongoriro National Park. The park turnoff was 15 minutes away. The National Park town has numerous dining options with a number of places that have incredible outdoor views. The turn is small and walkable and very safe and quiet! The chalet was well equipped with comfortable beds and also has great views of the surrounding areas and the volcanoes along with Mt Doom from Lord of the Rings! Our hosts were communicative and answered our questions promptly. Parking was right in front of the chalet. I would highly recommend a stay at the chalet!
Unfortunately the dirty linen remained on the beds and rubbish was left by the previous guests. The cleaner had to come by to put it right. Photos don’t really represent the rustic interior. Otherwise the place was OK.

Lovely property and location
The cabin was as described, and the location is great.Clean bed linen and towels were provided. The wifi was good, which was great for my kids. The kitchen was well equipt and had everything needed for family meals. The beds were comfy and everyone slept well. The heatpump was able to keep the place at a nice temperature.Checkin was a bit of a mission as the instructions were for a different keysafe to the one currently in use. The instructions need updating. I don't think we're the first review to mention this, and standing in the rain in the dark trying to figure it out wasn't a great start. There is a lovely classic woodstove, but no usable wood provided. The woodshed is open to the elements and everything in there was wet and rotting. The service station Four Square does sell wood, but the logs they sell are too long for the woodstove unless split to kindling size and wedged in on an angle.
The checkin has been hard because the video that they sent was not the good one, we had the wrong information. We had to manage to call the owner (as foreigners it was not easy. When we finally got in, there was clothes in the washing machine, it was not so cleaned and we had to look for everything, no garbage bag and no answer from the owner even though we wrote him on his email. It was not what we had expected. Very deceiving!
Great little holiday home in National Park. Has everything you need and only 20 minutes away from the slopes. Hosts were excellent to deal with during COVID and very flexible.
Great spot, close to everything. Warm. Was expecting three rooms however it's set up as two bedrooms and a mezzanine floor with beds. Appreciated all the extra blankets and pillows and the electric blankets were awesome - thanks!

A great house to base yourself in for exploring the Central North Island.
A great house to base yourself in for exploring the Central North Island. All the basics at a really reasonable price - which is hard to come by theses days it seems. The fire does a good job of heating the place up. There are no double/queen beds - but nothing that a bit of furniture re-arranging cannot fix.
