It was excellent until the other renters came in the adjacent town house. They were loud and we could hear everything. The complex was nice. Provided some outdoor amenities: a spicket to rinse feet from the beach, volleyball court and corn hole game.

Beautiful experience

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything was just as discussed in the contract. Clean, up to date, and a beautiful view. The only issue that I have is, the contract states that you can reserve the same time the next year when you check out. When I called the office the reservation person doesn’t apparently understand what her company has in the agreements, must need more training on rentals. This is the third year with this company and never had this issue before.

Excellent location better than advertised

The house has a better view of the beach than the listing shows , so that was a wonderful surprise . The house is private but close enough to everything, very convenient location. Definitely a great place to stay.

Great location, perfect clean beach, enough space for 2 families. Saw dolphins, played in the waves, sat on porch, great sunrise and sunset. Property manager always available for any questions that we have.

You can drive to surf spots or surf in front of the townhouse. This is our second stay and it has recently had upgrades (change in bed size, kitchen). We love this place. Plenty of space for a family of 4 but there was plenty of room for additional guests.

Great location!

This unit has the best location in the complex, it's right on the beach with an amazing porch that overlooks the ocean. It was clean and well stocked and the beds were comfortable. The only slight issue was the thin walls between the it and the adjoining unit. It wasn't bad but you knew you had neighbors.

Oceanfront treat!

Reviewer Comments: The porch up to the sand for an ocean view can make it hard to want to leave this beautiful place and all the comforts of home make that easy to rent for a staycation!We enjoyed a great week in one of my favorite places and the price made this my first oceanfront rental in OBX. Nice home with three bedrooms has plenty of room to spread out and the short distance to Kill Devil Hills makes it convenient. We enjoyed a sunset boat ride with a couple of local men who shared some interesting information about the area and spent a day in Manteo at their great aquarium (make reservation before going) and the Elizabethan Gardens. Always enjoy a ride to Corolla and a visit at the Whalehead Lodge near the lighthouse there too.

Great September vacation

The staff at Carolina Shores were extremely helpful and very pleasant. We called their office on Friday afternoon to find the name of a tow truck since one of our cars would not start. They immediately texted a number to me and help was on the way! We will definitely be looking to Carolina Shores for our next rental.

Overall was good but we were not prepared for the number of stairs in the unit and the handrails that only went part way. We feel that somethings should have been in place i.e. no toilet paper in the unit when we arrived or hand sanitizer.

Great location to beach

Great view and great location to beach. A little bit of a walk to get to beach but not bad at all. Appliances all worked well. The only critical comment is the place really needs a vacuum sweeper to clean up sand. We swept with broom and got about 2 cups of sand off floors when we arrived. Other than that it was an awesome place. They must have been having problems with AC but had 4 temporary window units installed. Worked very well. One other issue is we paid for the linens but they did not arrive until we called the next day.

Convent location with a view you can't beat!

We've stayed at other properties in Dunes South and this one earns 5 stars for location. You can't beat the view from the top deck and beach access is only a 30 second walk. The beach was clean, uncrowded, and conveniently located between two piers that offer food, activities and sights to see. The house could have used a little updating but if you aren't bothered by a bit of wear and tear it will do just fine. The property is also a duplex so you'll have to keep the possibility of having neighbors in mind. The house offered everything we needed for cooking. We opted to not rent linens and just brought our own towels and sheets. Pillows and comforters were still provided which was a plus. Overall great stay for our family and we look forward to renting again in the future!

Nice place but could have been cleaned better

The house was nice, however the house was not cleaned very well. I was told that housekeeping was very short staffed, but there was dust in the air conditioning vents amongst other places and sand in some of the beds. I did call the rental place and they said that they could send someone over to clean, but i had told them that i had already cleaned what needed to be cleaned. I cleaned and did laundry on my first day of vacation, which I was not expecting to do.
