The Neighborhood:
The Plateau Mont-Royal, this popular area that became yuppie-bohemian is by far the most hip in Montreal. Small intimate theaters, thrift stores, used bikes, exclusive boutiques, cafes, restaurants and delis add to the cultural ferment and bohemian atmosphere that characterize the Plateau, where all lifestyles converge.
This is the best place to really get a feel of what Montreal is all about. It’s community is predominantly francophone and highly eclectic. Artists, students, young professionals and new families mingle with each other, creating an extraordinarily vibrant and colorful human mosaic. Those who do not live there come as often as possible to play and go out, and for good reasons...
Four major arteries are heart the neighborhood: The Saint-Laurent Boulevard - "The Main" - where many cultural communities have established their shops, the Rue Saint-Denis and its multitude of shops, cafes and terraces, Prince Arthur Street and its restaurants "Bring your own wine" and the Mount Royal Avenue with bars both connected and relaxed. A constant hum contrasts with the tranquility of the side streets, the lined up stairs of twisted wrought iron, as well as the lush greenery of Parc La Fontaine.
At night, the Plateau is known to be especially entertaining and warm. From chic lounge to corner microbreweries, from a wide variety of restaurants and taverns to high caffeine content and lively discussions of all it’s coffee shops, the choice is rich. Musicians - Quebec art scene is extremely innovative and prolific - occur every night and all summer, the sidewalks are full of life. A night out, it's here.
Getting Around:
From the Airport, you can take bus 747 all the way to metro station Berri-Uqam. From there use the metro up to station Mont-Royal (only 2 stations). You are at the apartment within a 5 minute of walk.

My 3 sisters and I loved staying here during our girls getaway in Mtl! Amazing space with everything we needed. Incredible location. Would stay there again in a heartbeat
We had 9 of us staying in this terrific spot in the plateau. Lots of walks on Mont Royal Ave, Parc La Fontaine and the mountain. The patio was great and everyone was very comfortable. There was space to both be together and to have a minute to yourself. My only comment is that we needed more platters/serving bowls for meals together. Everything else in the kitchen worked out very well. Thanks for a great spot!
Beside the beauty and perfect location of the appartement, what impressed us the most was the quick and efficient communication with the owners who resolved in no time questions we had. A perfect stay!
Very clean apartment, comfortable beds, great location near a metro station, a wonderful place for our family to play games and socialize. One thing that was surprising to me (I probably just skipped over it in the description) was the two flight, very steep, staircase to enter the apartment. We were traveling with a group of senior citizens some of which found the stairs to be quite difficult.
This property worked so nicely for 5 adult women- one sleeping on the top bunk of the double sized bunk beds. The use of space was well done. The finishes were very nice. We were able to cook a little, chill a lot, and easily get around the town. Lots of great shops and food within walking distance.
The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful. Check in and check out were very smooth as well. We were very happy with our stay here!
The apartment was perfect for our family of five. Located in a not-too-busy part of Montreal, near shops and restaurants, we loved walking around the neighborhood. Highly recommend renting their private parking spot. The manager was incredibly accessible and helpful. Our only complaint (minor) was footsteps from upstairs neighbor. Would go back in a minute!
Excellent location with wonderful layout of apartment.
Close to it all. Be mindful you’re in the heart of a city. Parking is tricky (go to a garage if more than one car-a bit of a walk but cheap and worth not dealing with the hassle of street parking). Stairs are steep, but thankfully only one flight.
Overall fantastic location and spacious Apartment. Rooms are smaller but we fully expected them to be as it’s an apartment. Hosts are very responsive. Outdoor patio is such a great added bonus.
Overall is was OK. The rooms are not as big as they appear in the pictures. The front bedroom is very small and you can hear traffic all night. We were locked out of the place inconviently for a while because the batteries in the lock were bad. It was clean and the location is great but the rooms are much smaller than they appear.
We are Americans, who traveled to Montreal to meet up with our Canadian relatives for a long weekend (3 adults and 3 teenagers in total. This rental is extremely well-managed and comfortable. It’s in a great note location. Cafés and restaurants are right out the front door. a train stop is nearby and buses come and go along the street to make it easy to get around. We found buying the $14 24-hour parking pass for visitors easy to manage. I really appreciated that all of the bedrooms were separated from each other and the living room was on the opposite end from the kitchen and dining area. Two parts of our group could be doing different activities without disturbing each other.
The property is just as listed and quite comfortable. Modern, airy, well-equipped, comfy beds and fantastic back deck.
Unfortunately, there is a smell of stale cigarette smoke embedded in the apartment. Not sure if it’s coming through the vents but it’s there. Property manager was very responsive to this information but couldn’t assist.
The Plateau/Mile End neighborhood isn’t what we hoped for. Many groups of homeless people gathered on corners.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The apartment was very clean and the layout is perfect for families. The kids used the room in the back and it was far away from the living room so they could sleep while we were awake without disturbing them. Noise from the above apartment was noticeable but not an issue for us - ultimately I see it as a tradeoff between more stairs to get to the top apartment but with no worry of noise above you - it depends on what matters most.
The apartment is in a great location - tons of shops and restaurants within walking distance. We were also able to get to the metro station within a ten minute walk.
The hosts were also very responsive and accommodating throughout our stay. We had an issue with the dryer come up and they stayed in contact with us on the status of the repair and provided us with drying racks in the meantime.
We would recommend booking this apartment to friends and family in the future - the apartment definitely fit our needs for this trip.
having 4 bedrooms was great to spread out, but still be together. location convenient to subway, but neighborhood a little blah. could have been the time of year. picked area for younger nephew, thinking he would like it, for walking around. house was clean and had everything you could need, except a drip coffee maker. host thoughtfully provided a basket of k-pods for the Keurig, but we are big coffee drinkers, and would have been nice to be able to have a pot going. speaking of pot, whole neighborhood smells of it, but that seemed like all of Montreal in some areas. only complaint with the vrbo, was that you can hear all the footsteps, chair moving, and loud conversation from the apartment above, through the ceiling. luckily, they seemed to have moved out after the 2nd day. also, as a warning the stairs up to the apartment are very steep if you have mobility issues. apartment though was nicely decorated and comfortable, and instructions well laid out, except got a late email from them about check out that included an instruction that was new about scanning a barcode to let them know when you had checked out. didn't see that until several days after being gone, sorry. apt did have a nice large washer/dryer set that was handy, and towels were nice and thick. have been to several vrbo's, and some seem just thrown together with mix matched supplies/dishes etc..., but this place was very nicely put together.
