"Great location with friendly staff. We stayed in the apartment around the corner from main hotel. Very spacious and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent with a large variety to choose from. Would highly recommend the location as it’s a 20 minute to the train station walking on basically 1 Main Street."

"The hotel was clean and reception staff accomodating. The property is old and in need of modernising. Located 20 minutes walk from the centre in a run down part of the city. We stayed in a delux room which appeared tired and outdated. Bathroom shower very small. Average breakfast. Not a 4 star property."

"I really liked the location - it’s central but not too busy. It is on a side street though in the university area so can seem a bit rowdy at times. The bed was comfortable and hotel staff helpful. However I would’ve expected better amenities from a 4 star hotel - there was no ironing facilities and had to ask a few times for shower gel to be replaced. The hotel seemed a bit dated and perhaps had been refurbished from a smaller scale b&b before? Also slightly outrageous to charge €9 per day just for putting things in the mini fridge? However I liked the nice touches of welcome cards, turn down chocolates etc."

"Lovely staff and wonderful restaurant. Be sure to make a reservation if you want to eat supper there as it is popular. The bed was comfortable and we liked the pillow menu. The location is terrific and walkable to many resto and shopping. Only two downsides were that we were given a room that looked out onto a wall and The air conditioning randomly came on several times a day despite the fact that I had turned it off."

The breakfast was excellent and the team serving us was attentive and friendly. This is a great hotel with lots of history."
