In the clouds
If you want to be in the mountains, this is the place. Cute hideaway for me and hubby, we had everything we needed and the host responded quickly when we had a question. I only gave the check in process 3 stars because it has a digital or smart lock, we were not familiar with how to use it and it took some time to get in. I would definitely come back though! Beautiful mountain scenery.

Nice and tight!
Nicely decorated and updated. Cannot possibly get any more than 3 people to stay there, not that it was ever communicated that you could. Even the living space cannot accompany more than 3 people - fairly tight quarters but very well done!

Clean and Cozy Stay!!
We loved this cabin! It was clean and tidy and had pretty much all we needed to cook with. We made tasty meals on the grill outside and enjoyed relaxing with beautiful views on the private deck. The bed was very comfy, and we enjoyed relaxing on the couch. We didnt need anything during our stay, but the property management company reached out when we checked in to give us a quick way to reach out for anything. It did get a little warm during the day without AC, and it would be handy to have a dumpster closer to the cabin. Other than that, we loved our stay and would stay again!

AMAZING!
This was the perfect spot for my boyfriend and I to escape the Oklahoma heat. The house is a great size for a couple and it was so clean and beautifully decorated. It had the most homey feeling which we loved! You are also near so many great spots to explore! The hosts were great at reaching out and making sure all our needs were met. We would highly recommend Rocky Top Cabin A.

Steep stairs and a vacation spent cleaning
The location was nice, sat in nature like that, but if I'd known about the outside AND inside stairs I would have passed. Nobody talked to us throughout our visit, which was nice, but when we called about some amenities, they said they'd call us back and never did, plus she didn't sound happy to talk to us at all. The place was clean, mostly bug free and pretty, but those stairs hurt us pretty badly, as we are both disabled. The outside stairs and parking posed a bit of a problem as well, and we could not find a light for the outside. All in all, it was nice (just nice) but if I'd known everything about the property I would have passed on it. Also the rules we received made it sound like the owner of the property doesn't want visitors, and we spent most of our vacation cleaning. I wish we'd just found a hotel instead, honestly.

Our apologies that the description was not clear enough- we have updated so that it reflects that there are stairs to the property and that the bedroom is upstairs. Also, not sure why you felt the need to clean the entire time you were there- our rules simply state to leave the home as you found it- place dishes in the dishwasher (and start if time allows) and to start a load of towels (if time allows). Again, our apologies for any confusion.

The description of the property was exactly as listed. The bed was extremely comfortable. We didn’t have any trouble streaming on both tvs. Overall positive experience! The only thing that gave us any grief was that the front door sometimes wouldn’t latch to shut properly.

Very comfortable cabin. Kitchen is well equipped. We could see the starts at night through the bedroom window. King bed is very comfortable. Lots of fresh powder. Roads maintenance was excellent getting up the pass after snow fall. Great communication with agent. Would highly recommend.

Monarch Ski Vacation
This property is ideally located only 5 minutes from Monarch Mountain. I highly suggest ensuring your initial arrival is during daylight, as it's complicated to find in the dark, in the snow and ice. Once you figure out it's easy, make sure you follow the local directions provided. The kitchen was nicely updated, and the space was perfect for the 3 of us. We would stay there again when we ski Monarch.

I am always looking for a safe, clean, stocked place for our mini getaways. Naturally location and budget are also a huge factor. This ticked the boxes. Minutes from Monarch Mountain, 15 mins from Salidas cute historic street. Kitchen stocked. Quiet neighborhood. Recommend!

Everything was great the only regret I have is not booking it for longer, it’s cozy and full of snow, went tubing in the monarch mountain and went to one of the hot springs , so much relaxation I didn’t want it to end. So happy overall thanks from my family and me.

My husband and I stayed here over New Years - very homey and well cared for place. Would be perfect for a couple or small family. Everything was as described. I appreciated the little touches - stocked wood pellet stove, board games, a yoga mat, basic sugar/spices, a shovel (which we needed as it snowed a bunch!). Communication was easy and professional. If arriving in snow, 4wd is definitely useful for parking on the steep drive and for the unplowed top of the road at the turn off from 50.

Loved our stay here. A few friends and I rented this cabin for my birthday weekend. It was close to salida and so so cozy. It is a bit small, but perfect for a one night stay! The check in process was easy and it’s tucked away in the perfect area. Would recommend to anyone

Cute place to get away. Don't count on any phone or internet
I think it's time for Starlink. For my trip the temps dropped to 19 degrees and it started to snow so it was hard to do outdoor activities and it was too early in the year to ski. That made for lots of hours in the house. Very nice place but it would have been nice to have internet or at least a tv that would allow a game console to hook up to it. We still enjoyed our time

Information sharing was great, cabin was clean and ready when we checked in. It’s smaller than it appears in photos, but we had everything we needed for 2 people. The sofa bed is exceedingly comfortable and kitchen was nicely outfitted. It was further from Salida than we thought, but a reasonable drive.

Amazing spot!
We absolutely LOVED this little cabin. We loved the deck for stargazing and having our morning coffee! The kitchen was well stocked and we were easily able to cook meals there. The king bed is soooo comfy. The wifi was a bit spotty at times, but this is mentioned in the listing and to be expected - it was nice to have an excuse to unplug. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you!

The property overview says wifi can be spotty in the mountains and that you could stream movies using their smart TV. I understand coverage can be spotty but we were there 5 days and it was mostly non-existent. There was about a day and a half that we could receive and send text. There was never enough wifi strength to use the TV. I contacted the property manager, Kassie, and tried rebooting the router but that did not help. Kassie said they could offer us a discount and she would have someone out on Monday to check it out but to keep her posted. I texted her on Monday and said there was still no change. She did not respond and as far as I know no one came out. Upon return home I called the property management 2x regarding the offered discount but no one answered. I left 2 messages and have had no response. I think I have been ghosted. The cabin is nicely decorated and the kitchen has plenty of equipment for making meals. Also as the ad says there is Hwy noise as the cabin sits very close to Hwy 50.

Nice rural setting. Away from cities & towns.
We enjoyed our stay. Cabin was well set up for eating and taking it easy. Slept well. Had fun walking thru small village of Garfield . Met and talked to people. Very close to US 50. Construction projects slowed traffic, so tolerable. A little challenging for aging legs and balance issues on hills and steps. Like others, little disappointed with WIFI connectivity. Location is nicely situated between Salida and Monarch Pass. Great to be in mountains away from city-life.

Hiking trip to Salida area
Wonderful property and a great location. Cabin had everything we needed and more- laundry is a plus when packing lots of layers. Enjoyed hanging out, eating, and morning yoga on the deck. Great base camp for daily area hikes. Boss/Hunt Lake was our favorite and only a short drive away. Debated over staying here vs in Salida downtown and SO glad did it this way! Salida has a lot to offer but we ate here first for nature and we were happy to retreat back to the quiet and cooler temp/higher altitude. Can’t wait to return!

It was so cute and cozy just wish we could have stayed. Due to weather and emergency we had to leave. Very short time there maybe 2 hours but so cute and would love to book again and spend more time. Quaint and well appropriated cabin within a stones throw of skiing at Monarch!
A great property and location. The cabin appeared to be recently renovated and was very nice inside and out. A cozy space inside with a good view from the deck. There was good attention to detail from the furniture and appliances to the provisions (coffee, kitchen supplies, paper products, etc.) making the stay very comfortable. My family greatly enjoyed our stay. It was perfect for a few days of skiing at Monarch Mountain and well situated for access to the Monarch Crest backcountry. Highly recommend.

It was a great location for our mountain adventures.The parking was a little steep, especially if you have a vehicle larger than a small car. We all slipped trying to unload and get in and out, but found it easiest to get out, and then back in. Place was perfect other than that.

Snowshoe Explorers
Comfortable little cabin located at +/- 9700 ft elevation 😳. Bedroom is up, bathroom is down though. Several snowshoe trails are just minutes away and more are just near Buena Vista & Leadville. Salida Mountain Sports is a great resource for gear and advice. Here for 4nts/5days… will definitely be back!

This little place was great for us - 2 parents 2 kids. It’s small but has everything you’ll need, included a well equipped kitchen for actual cooking. 5 minutes from Monarch. Road noise not an issue.

Fantastic stay! This place was immaculately clean and was the perfect size for my husband, me and our two fur babies! Our truck never even left the driveway, because there are several hikes that you can walk to, right from the front door. We will definitely stay here again.

Had several Experiences with Spiders and Ants. The Shower Valves need to be rebuilt, the Bed Sheets have no Breath ability at all and were very uncomfortable. Other than that, we had a good stay. Thank You. we may come back.

Good base for south-central CO adventures
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin—it was very clean and well-kept, and had a small, private deck on one side that is surrounded by beautiful aspens and pine. The South Arkansas River flows nearby and the sound of the water through the sliding deck doors is wonderful. The cabin is part of a little neighborhood that makes for pleasant morning or evening walks. Salida is about 20 minutes away, and Buena Vista is about 45 minutes. We enjoyed it as a home base for 11 nights. There were a few minor issues during our stay: We were never able to get the smart TV to work—the property manager kindly came by on the first full day and got it working (the new owner had not set it up), but the next time we turned it on it required the whole setup process to be repeated, so we just never turned it on again during our stay. The internet at the cabin is pretty slow, and we had zero Verizon cell service, all things the property manager had alerted us to. Again, not a big deal for us, but just know that working from the cabin would be difficult. The driveway is steep, narrow and short—we had a Ford F150 truck and it was difficult to park in a way that both sides of the truck could be accessed when parked. The cabin is situated right below the banks of CO 50, which is a major road for traffic going over Monarch Pass, including lots of 18-wheelers; we got used to the traffic noise but light sleepers might want to bring ear plugs. Overall though, this cabin was a pleasant experience and fairly priced, and we would stay there again!
