Recent Reviews in Molleturo

Hotel Cruz del Vado by Art Hotels Ecuador

8/10 Good

"Everything was great. Unfortunately I didn’t check but most of the rooms are windowless. As I’m claustrophobic this was issue. The other thing if you are coming by car is the parking which is about half a block away. These are common themes for hotels in the historic center though. If you are looking for traditional American comfort try hotels on the other side of town"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Molleturo?

The best area to stay in Molleturo is generally within the main village centre, particularly around the central plaza and the main road, E582.This area is the heart of Molleturo and offers the most convenient access to local amenities and the starting points for exploring the surrounding natural beauty. The central plaza is a focal point, often featuring local markets or gatherings, and the main road connects you easily to both Guayaquil and Cuenca. Accommodations here tend to be smaller, locally run guesthouses or haciendas, providing a more authentic experience. For couples seeking a quiet retreat immersed in nature, staying slightly outside the main village, perhaps in one of the haciendas or eco-lodges along the E582 towards the Cajas National Park, is an excellent option. These establishments often boast stunning views of the Andean landscape, offer opportunities for hiking and birdwatching directly from their grounds, and provide a peaceful setting away from any village bustle.

When is the best time to go to Molleturo?

The best time to visit Molleturo is generally during the dry season, which runs from June to December.During these months, you'll experience more sunny days and less rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the natural beauty of the region. The trails will be clearer, and the rivers will be at a more predictable level, superb for canyoning or trekking. This period offers the most comfortable conditions for enjoying Molleturo's landscapes. For those interested in birdwatching, the dry season also provides excellent opportunities as many species are more active and visible.
